They traded back 8 spots to pick up a 3rd and a 4th. This wasn't trading entirely out of the first or something. They still have their first rounder.

And ammo to move up tomorrow.

McDuffie wasn’t going to last until 29. So that isn’t unexpected. Still a decent amount of talent left that we didn’t think would be available at 21 that the Pats might be able to select at 29.

Very few people likely feel that way, unless they just want to post negative things. Mcduffie, Jermaine Johnson, Hill, Dean, Lloyd. I’m happy that all of those guys are there…and I’m ready for the Pats to take none of them.

Not sayimg they aren't worth the pick. But do I absolutely run up to steal a guy at 21? Besides maybe McDuffie idk. But is a guy like McDuffie rare at 21? Idk.

I don't know Patriots fans fascination with loading up on junk picks late in the draft (ToM BrAdYY wAs A sIxtH roUnD cOmP piCk). This is. a team that outside of QB, RB, and safety could use an infusion of talent at any other spot on the roster and we traded back for some mid round picks. I don't like it and would rather have taken my chances on McDuffie at 21.

So, you’d rather improve just one position instead of improving three positions?

They need day one contributors. Not potential starters in year 3.

this makes no sense. They have holes everywhere…

They don't have a hole anywhere.
They have multiple positions that are candidates for upgrade.
That's why you get multiple picks.

You usually think quality over quantity when you're already a title contender and have very few holes, and you just need those few pieces. I don't see the Patriots as that team at the moment.
