Mike Giardi: The offense was so beat up this time last year, that they could not run a full practice

Curious then that he wasn't able to do this consistently against anyone else in the last few years..

He seemed to have a jump in the Super Bowl

I don't remember much of the game because I didn't really pay any attention to it but even if he had there are 50+ games in the past few years where he wasn't able to jump so consistently..

It sure is.

I refuse to accept a BB run team to not have installed and practiced different silent snap intervals and variances leading up to that game. Miller Ware and Wolf are all gifted pass rushers but that was absurd.
So maybe it was aliens.

You should actually watch the tape. I think what you will find is light was wrong

Which game was this, @luuked?

I am not sure what you mean. @The Brandon Five said VM also showed the same jump on snap against the Panthers in the SB and I just said that I didn't really watch the SB last year so I can't say anything about it. My point was that I can't remember VM jumping the snap consistently in the majority of his other games - at least to the same extent as against us in the AFCCG.

But it shouldn't have taken a new OL coach. The head bob being the trigger isn't the issue, in fact it still is. The issue was that one every snap they went 1 silent beat after the head came up. Its like calling every play on 1.
I still don't understand how the OL coach is the guy responsible for what is essentially the snap count.

Or why it was something not rectified after the first couple series where the pass rush was overwhelming. We have a GOAT QB, "genius" OC and HC. Heck, a genius up in the booth (Ernie)...and no one could point out the snap count give-away to Googs/Stork/Brady?
Maybe I just don't understand the nuances of how this works but there is plenty of blame to go right up and down the chain from Googs.

I find it funny that some people get to the right question "Why couldn't the best coaching staff in football fix that simple head bob ?" but just can't connect the dots and realize that maybe that head bob wasn't really the big issue everyone makes it out to be.

I mean with all due respect but do you honestly think that our entire coaching staff - which prepares for and practices all possible situations -- didn't notice it happening if it really was so big of a tell ? That's laughable..

I don't know enough about football to explain why it was such a one sided game.
I am not letting the final score fool me - we were at least 10-14 points outplayed.
If the head bob had anything to do with it, then I fault the coaches for not fixing it.
If it was Von Miller being so much better than our edge protection, then add more guys. Chop block him for all I care.
Again - I don't know enough about the game to know how we lost so badly.
The AFCDG against the cryin' Ravens had a tighter feel than the AFCCG.

I don't think that this year's regular season game in Denver was that much different than the AFCCG to be honest.

If I had to quickly sum it up, in both games neither tam could move the ball consistently but this time Brady didn't throw 2 INTs that Denver could convert into cheap points but instead we got one of those. Despite all the fourth down calls, missed XPs and failed 2pt conversions if you break it down losing the turnover battle was the biggest reason for us to miss the SB.

Denver's offense was a total trainwreck and we had an injury ravaged team (Solder Blount Lewis out, Edelman reinjured this foot, Amendola similarly hobbled, Brady with a sprained ankle and many more) that couldn't even practice after the KC game due to the health situation.

The reason why this year's game felt more like we were in control is because our OL prevented Brady to be hit as much and our running game was actually a factor. We lost the rushing battle last year 44:99 and this year we won it 136:58. In turn this meant that Brady didn't have to throw the ball 57 times (!!) but only 32 times which is relevant because we are talking about the strength of the Denver team.

It's fascinating though how all those QB hits left the psychological impression on viewers that Denver dominated us even though both teams essentially neutralized each other except for the turnovers.

Damn.... Pats really had it rough last year.

As a strength and conditioning coach, Cabrera has been a wonderful addition to this team!

Yeah as really they have had it rough. But still they always find a way to win.
