cause no player has ever prospered with a change of scenery right? agenda having much?
pot kettle, mister 'visit the chargers board every 5 seconds'
As I've stated, sometimes circumstances dictate that you overpay. Welker wasn't any major 'overpay' because he was a restricted free agent, and there was a minimum of a second rounder to be involved if he were just signed and the offer not matched. Now, some people decried the loss of that 7th round pick and you could argue that it was overpaying to send that to Miami in addition to the second rounder, but I felt that a 7th round pick was a very small price for this particular team to pay to avoid losing him to a matching offer from Miami.
Or, to put it another way, do you really think New England considered an extra 7th round pick a steep 'overpay' to get Welker when that 7th rounder had almost no shot to make the roster in the first place?
Dude, you should have ref'd the 2nd quote in this post because it wasn't mine. Just because we're Bolts fans doesn't mean that we all speak for each other. Heheh, I've read this board enough to know that even as I speak not all you pats fans speak for each other. Jes' sayin'? Be fair.
Hmm, when I think about it, you don't have to be. But just recognize that I know you weren't.
NE paid a 2nd and 7th for a guy miami got off sd's practice squad, we paid a 2nd for a wr miami used a 2nd to get
sounds like we aren't the ones who overpaid in that little comparison
Actually, you're wrong. Check my "Today, 02:56 AM" post for the reference point. It's a minor detail, but I didn't make the mistake you're claiming I made.
Don't be ridiculous, because you're better than that. He wasn't a "practice squad" player when New England signed him, as you know full well.
How much do you think a 2nd or 3rd has a chance to make our squad next year? Plus, with regard to talent eval AJ and BN don't suck. They've already proven they can pull a rabbit out of a hat. They'll continue to.
Look, it's like this. Right now I'm sure all pats fans are just licking their chops. NE does look impressive. But I'm here to tell you that it's STILL a long season and much can happen. We have to let it play out. It's STILL about one game at a time. At some point one or more teams should figure out how to defend a team that has no run game. Clearly the Bolts were not up to the challenge' in game two. If no team can figure that out this year then, oh well? You win!
How much do I think a 2nd or 3rd has a chance to make The Chargers' squad next year? Between the secondary, the receiver corps, the inside linebackers and the overall depth, there is no way that a #2 or #3 wouldn't/won't have every opportunity to make that team. Look, circumstances dictated that the Chargers overpay for Chambers, and it may work out very well for them. There's really no need to defend it by doing anything more than noting Parker went to the IR and the team got a receiver who can play and should upgrade the position.
As for the "no run game", you're simply wrong there. Even with Maroney having missed games and Morris missing about half of the Cowboys game, the New England running game is #7 in the league.
Our ILB's are underrated. Whomver we could draft for our secondary would be just that, secondary. We could use help on our OL next year but there's no guarantee that a 2nd or 3rd outperforms a 4-7th. I think you know this. It's all about identifying the talent you need. The round a given player you're looking at is targeted for or the round you acquire the player you want doesn't really matter. That is, if you know what you're looking at.
I'd like to think you know this. Look at SD. Look at the management and what it's done. In terms of the draft strictly.
We can overcome no 2nd or 3rd. Er, and 4th. Also, SD does have depth worthy of development.
We'll get a compensatory 3-5th for DE to KC this draft. No telling what other deals management may make during the off season? SD will
Good pick up for the Bolts. Chambers may have a lifetime case of the dropsies, but he is better than any other receiver on their roster at this time and should see lots of coverage w/ no Safety help. A 2nd may have been too much to give up for him, but it also may prove to be a bargain.
So by that logic, a team trading a 5th round pick for Tom Brady would be overpaying?
This definitely improves the Sparkler's offense! Chambers is a great receiver, but the question begs, can Philip "Cry Me A" Rivers step up and be the QB every bandwagon fan in SD thinks he is?
Chambers is overrated imo. The Dolphins actually 'won' on this trade as I think a 2nd round pick is worth more than Chambers. Since the Phins season is going down the toilet anyways they might as well stock up on draft picks. Furthermore, this helps them in their goal of tanking the season from this point onwards.
As far as next week's game goes, of course this weakens the Dolphins, but we were going to blow them out by 20 plus points regardless, so I doubt it will be much of a factor in the rout.
Seeing Chambers get moved makes me think that Jason Taylor may be next. JT might even fetch a 1st round pick from the right team. The Fins could really help themselves in the draft with two 1st round picks and 2 second round picks.
So I guess you aren't willing to answer my question seriously. You must know it is strange for you to hang out here Sanvara.
It is also common practice for real members of Patsfans.com to call out trolls. You must have seen that before, right?
Real Member of Patsfans.com = Those members who are Patriots fans. After all, you are either a Patriots fan or a guest member. You are a guest member who hangs out here as if you are a member...go figure.
"Real Patsfans members" don't have to "stay on topic" if we're calling out a troll like you...sorry honey.
JT stays. Trade deadline.
Have you been watching the games? Seeing what he brings to this team, I don't think it would have been overpaying to trade a #1 for him. He's that good.

My point is she has over 350 posts here. Not that that is against any rules, but it is not the norm for an opposing team's fan to want to post so often on another teams board...capiche?
As to your other point, I could care less if a troll comes back here after we beat them.
The irony of this thread is that the Coachkillers allowed Welker to be plucked off their practice squad for nothing. A couple of years later they are desperately making deals for receivers.:bricks:
So you're telling us the Chargers don't evaluate talent very well?
Separate names with a comma.
