It's amazing how we can field a team when every player who has a good season can't possibly be signed.

Didn't mean that he was a weak link. He ended up being pretty strong link.
But the other 4 ol starters were all better than brown this year. Including Cannon.
Not really a knock on brown, just shows
    how strong our ol was/is.
Continuity and chemistry are everything on an ol, so I'd love to see him back at lt,with Wynn coming back and a year under their belt they could be even better next year.

These guys most of the time want to get paid to the highest bider in FA. Who can blame them. They usually have a short career. Some team will offer him crazy money. I expect that Wynn was drafted with an eye toward 2019 starting LT. With Scar as an assistant coach, usually he can coach up undervalued LTs. I wish we could keep him, but think it is unlikely.

I liked the trade from the start. However, he’ll cost too much. I’m sure Scar can coach up our new mammoth 6’10 tackle Dan Skipper :D

I feel the exact same way about him.

Scar spoke highly of him but also said he seemed to need to keep Brown on his toes as opposed to Thuney who Scar said will do anything to get better.

I want him back but I don't want them to open up the vault for him.

I'm also worried about signing him long term, usually a LT Free agent will get a 4 or 5 year deal. He had a good year but who knows once he gets paid if he will keep the motivation.

I’m hoping Brown will be smart enough to accept a fair but not lavish offer from the Pats, and that the team will be smart enough to make him a fair but not extravagant offer, close enough to be competitive with the crazy money without breaking the bank.

How much will he command? Same with FLowers? A lot of $$ between those 2 but 2 HUGE pieces to this team for a run at 7

Half assing is not his issue, dude does not believe in film study. He just thinks his technique and coaching is sufficient for any any opponents. I am surprised he did well under BB. His mantra is that opponents should rather watch him to beat him. It is a strange mindset for a Patriots player.

Brown is going to hit the jackpot in free agency - good for him, but not good for the Pats.

Assuming that Wynn is slated to play tackle, it makes sense to let brown walk and pick up a borderline starter/backup tackle for minimal money.

So, we're all comfortable with counting on Wynne to come back at 100%, and to play Waddle when one of the tackles is injured? Not me! If we can't get Brown, I expect Belichick to trade for an OT, a Brown-equivalent. We would then have 6 starters, much needed. Wynne would be our first off the bench at 4 positions, as he plays his first NFL season.

How much of a factor will trying to figure out what resigning Thuney and Andrews will cost on what they can afford to offer Brown? With 6 draft picks in the top 100 they need some cheaper O Line options going forward because they can't pay top dollar to all our lineman.

I do wonder what he will garner as far as offers. I think it’s possible teams say “well somebody just blew a truckload of cash on a Patriots LT one year ago and it didn’t go so well for them, why should we do the same?”

But chances are at least one team won’t be smart enough to consider that, and it only takes one team.

I'm just glad they don't get paid by the pound.

So here's a question: how does he get around? What form of transportation can he use? 0f7fytl5are21.jpg

If (when?) he signs a "Solder-like" contract, he may also perform "Solder-like".

the hysteria never stops....RELAX. BB will take care of everything. Jeezus...there must be some new kind of rampant "turn men into old ladies" disease going around.
