Patriots Injury News Will Campbell Week 12 Injury [11/26 update: Placed on IR]

gotta love Breer.

“The earliest he’ll be back is the last game of the regular season, and the Pats might even hold him out of that to give him more time for the playoffs.”

“I’ll tell you what though, if this were last year and they had nothing to play for, they would shut him, down for the year.”

So this year, he’s going to miss 3 and likely 4 more games, while last year… he would miss 4 more games.

So he is really hurt badly??
Is this true?
If the Pats host as the 2 seed, will he play?

When a post/tweet, etc., reads, "Albert Breer said..." I immediately move on except when it comes to the Cowboys.

Most likely 6-8 weeks . If lowe plays decently I doubt we get Campbell back for this season . Maybe in playoff championship game and beyond.

To summarize what Breer said -
- Grade 3 tear
- generally expected recovery of 4-6 weeks
- type of injury you could theoretically play on, and players have, but playing on it can damage it more
- was placed on IR to protect Campbell from himself, as he’s exactly the type of guy who would be trying to play on it.
- Pats are more concerned with his long term health than short term gains
- targeting last game of regular season to return, but wouldn’t be surprised if they hold him back from that game
- if this were last year, they would definitely be shutting him down for the year (to my earlier post, basically just meaning there would be no attempt to get him back for the regular season finale).

Who knows how accurate this is, but that’s what he said.

Assuming injury is a 6-8 week thing (aI neverctrust Breer), why would you have Campbell return for Miami?

The game may be meaningless for post-season standings, but even if not, Pats should be able to beat Phish at home without Campbell.

Playoffs would be 7-8 weeks from injury, depending on bye.

Reports say he should be ready for week 18

Because you need to get him in game shape for the playoffs.

It’s looking likely that the game will have implications for the 1 seed too.

If it’s meaningless, pull him after half time or 3 quarters ish
