It's easy, and only takes a few moments. Can’t be 100%, but I fear the same thing... was amazing this season (despite PFF, pfffft). I’m cool letting Wynn have at it. (Also, never understood why lotsa people on here are trying to replace Thuney who’s been a workhorse, and steadying influence)Brown kind of scares me because he feels like one of those guys who might half ass things once he gets paid.
Brown was not good regular season.
He stepped up his game thru the playoffs and was very good.
That being said, he is w/o question the weakest link on the ol.
He was inconsistent in the run game but as pass protector he was pretty damn good throughout the entire season. Saying he is the weakest link on the OL is far off.
All that being said I agree that Flowers would be the more impactful signing.
well it was either him or Cannon.
Maybe I’m falling into the trap of “recency” but I’d say THE best. Both are damn good tackles. I honestly don't understand where all of that dismissive tone is coming from after one of the best seasons by the OL in the Brady/BB era.
Left Tackle is a highly sought after position. If Solder could garner $15m a year last year, with a rising cap in 2019 Brown can likely expect a team to pony up a similar amount. Even if they don't someone will offer somewhere in the $12m+ range. I just don't see how we can offer that - especially as we drafted an OT in the first round last year who we aren't going to leave on the bench.
The only middle way is to trade/cut Cannon and re-sign Brown at about $12m.
