I COULD phrase it like you did to make my point. Not going to though. The fact more poeple wish we had not drafted Maroney then drafted speaks volumes on week 13 of year two.

That number should be zero.

You are out of your mind.
Let me get this straight. You think that when you are drafting 21st in the draft, that 1 3/4s years later there will be ZERO fans who could not find a single player that was still on the board that they would rather have drafted?
Do you live in the real world?

You need to really either admit you are f-ing around, or just go away.

You cannot possibly seriously tell me that when you are trying to say Maroney sucks, that posting a poll asking fans to:
1) Say you will pick him again, HE IS GREAT
2) Allow them to pick anyone else on the board
3) Or be undecided

and 25% of the people say pick someone else, that this is anything but a TOTAL MISERABLE FAILURE TO MAKE YOUR POINT.

You seriously need to honestly answer whether you are just f-ing around or you truly believe that, so we can call the men with the white coats to put you in the padded room, or at least let your lunch lady know to keep sharp objects away from you.

Hey da bruinz. Why are more people in favor of NOT drafting Maroney then drafting him now?

I thought NSA and I where the ONLY ones!?

Because HIND SIGHT is 20/20 and there are plenty of people on here who think that they know more than Bill Belichick and Scott Pioli. And there were plenty of people who didn't want to draft Maroney. That doesn't make them like you and NSA.

YOU and NSA are imbeciles because you don't understand the game even 1% the way you think you do. Your arguments are done in a fashion where you compare apples to oranges and grapefruit.

You think comparing a 1 back system to a 3 back system is comparing apples to apples. In the examples you provided, the primary back did the job of both the 1st and 3rd down back. In other words, Maroney AND Faulk. In the examples you gave, the only Hoard had more than 75 carries as the #2 back. The way things are going, the Pats will have 5 backs with 44 or more carries. Every back beyond the top 2 that gets carries takes carries away from Maroney.

So, I am still waiting for you to enlighten everyone on what exercises a person needs to do to strengthen their rib cage so that it doesn't get dislocated when a 275 lb defensive lineman hits it and drives you into the ground...

But that was never a factor so who cares. Addai has nothing to do with this pole. I never said anything about a specific player.

Btw more people are voting they would not draft maroney then would now.

Just accept the fact a lot of people think the same way NSA and I do.

Accept what fact? That about 30 people out of over 100 think that the Pats should have drafted someone OTHER than Maroney?

Answer me this.. Who would be the Patriots RB RIGHT NOW if the Pats hadn't drafted Maroney?

Hey da bruinz I thought NSA and I where the only "imbaciles" who thought Maroney was a avg nfl back not worth his high draft choice.

Why are there more people voting not to draft Maroney then voting to draft him?

Since you are so into stats let the people know.

Again, you lie and put words in my mouth.

Secondly, you assumptions about what your poll states are tremendously flawed. Why? Your poll does not ask people to RATE Maroney. It only asks if people would pick someone OTHER than Maroney. That does NOT mean that Maroney is an AVG NFL back that was not worth a high draft choice. More people are voting that they would have preferred someone other than Maroney.

See, you are too stupid to realize that your poll doesn't even really support the stance you've taken. BTW, if Maroney is talented, how can he be average?

More people voting not to draft Maroney.

I thought we where the only ones?

Umm.. 24 out of 97 does not equal MOST. You must be using some screwed up math if you think that 24.7% of the voters = MOST.

MOST of the people are voting that its too early to tell.

You can't even get the facts of your own POLL correct.

You are so smart da bruinz.

Must have missed the part when I said most reffering only to those who wanted to draft him , and those who would not draft him.

Not the whole poll!!!!

That number should be zero.

Why should that number be zero? Because YOU say so? Because you have expectations that are ignorant?

The fact is that, in your poll, its basically a dead even split between yes and no. But the MAJORITY are undecided. You ignoring them and acting like they don't count shows how stupid you are and proves what I said. You put this post up to just beat your chest. And you loaded the answers. People saying they wouldn't take Maroney at 21 isn't necessarily a damnation on him. It could be that they had other preferences, such as Manny Lawson, Davin Joseph, Joseph Addai, Marcus McNeil, Demeco Ryans, or Mathias Kiwanuka.

Had you actually had a set of balls, the 2nd option would have said:
No. Maroney sucks. BB and Pioli screwed the pooch taking him.

But, you don't have balls. Your a shyster who'd rather play spin doctor with his poll.

The fact of the matter is that your poll doesn't answer the question you want it to.

Hey MORON. YOU must have missed my quoting you DIRECTLY. You must have decided to put on the spin campaign again to try and weasel your way out of the corner you got yourself painted into .

The fact is that you have to consider the WHOLE POLL. You can't just cherry pick stats. OH WAIT. That is what you do best.

The fact remains is that 21 people other than yourself, VJC and NSA would have drafted someone other than Maroney in the 1st round last year. Guess what? So would I. But that doesn't mean I don't believe he's 1st round talent. He is. He's also only 22 and only had 3 years college experience compared to Addai's 5.

Its amazing how you gloss over EXPERIENCE as if it doesn't matter.

Actually no , I was responding to a poster whom only took the two options I outlined into consideration.

Hey SFBs. You were responding to ME. And here is what I said:

DaBruinz said:
Friggin LOSER.. Changing your stance. You claimed that Maroney was a HIGH DRAFT PICK earlier.

And you use some BOGUS BS "avg running back" crap as justification..

You are so pathetic you aren't even laughable.

And here was your response:

I took more than the two options into consideration. I'm not some ignoramus like yourself.

Wow a lot of people against drafting him. These results are showing NSA and I are far from the only ones.

Man you are a tool. Are you this desperate to be "right" that you create a bogus "poll"? Considering that those that voted were given the ablity to have 20/20 hindsight to pick someone else SEEING HOW THEY PERFORMED ALREADY? I am sure you and butt buddy nsa don't see the absurdity of asking a question in a poll geared to get a certain answer?

How about a poll on the jests board (is this your home board or nsa's?) asking if they would rather have picked TB instead of Chad? Or maybe your "home board" is the colts so how about askng the fans there if they would rather have picked Rob Morris when they could have had AD in round SIX in 2000.

Of course you ASSume this is a "victory" for you when it is clear as people that state they voted they had no problems with LoMo but with pick someone else after seeing how other players have done well.

Since BB seems to like LoMo I will take his football knowledge over your limited "knowledge". Go back to the game day threads where you say nothing but negative things about the Pats and then when the Pats finish off the oppossing team you disappear from the thread because it would require acknowledging something positive of which you have nothing to add.

There have been several heated debates about Maroney on this board. Lets see if we can keep this one on track and keep it respectable to all those involved.

Hindsight is 20 / 20 but how many of you would not pick LoMo if they had the chance to go back in time and pick again.

Dont waste time posting other things. Just be honest , pick a option , and vote.

This pole is not to troll , I am interested in the honest opinion of those on the board who might not want to get into the LomO threads in fear of being black balled.

BE HONEST

Be honest?? You're asking us to decide now that we know what we know?

OK, I'll be honest...that is a foolish question to ask people.

So foolish that I could not vote on something like that. Your question is like asking people who survived a plane crash, "If you could decide all over again, would you get on that plane?"

Would I rather have Addai as a Patriot? Yes.

Did the Patriots make a "bad" draft pick? No.

I agree that the premise of the hindsight poll is flawed.

I also want to know, since NSA and Danny seem to think that Maroney should be kept around in a sort of a Faulk-replacement-role, why they want to move him to that status so quickly.

Finally I want to know, after so much hand-wringing about how that's not enough to show for a first-round draft pick, what you guys thought Reggie Bush was picked so high to do.

Do you really think he was supposed to be a 300-carry back? Or was he drafted to bring a specific skill set alongside MacAllister?

Maroney was drafted when we had Corey Dillon. Then we went out and acquired Sammy Morris. What does that tell you? Does that look like an offense intent on giving one guy 300 carries?

Maroney does what he is asked to do. Obviously, at the age of 22, they might expect to be able to ask more of him as his career goes on... which will be for many, many years.

Indiscriminate replacement of parts that aren't broken is an expensive proposition, and on a team that already has to come up with a whole passel of new bonus money, it might not be the wisest use of resources.

PFnV

I just want to know who picked the O line.

That guy is a champion.

Put this poll up on Indy's board about Addai and I GUARANTEE at least 95% say it was a great pick. You know why? Because the guy is a STUD. The poll on this site about Maroney proves that a lot of posters think the guy is a DUD. End of story.

We where told we where the only "imbeciles" , "morons" and "trolls" who thought Maroney was average at best.

This poll shows that is totally false.

Kudos on keeping your posts insult free. I have been getting warned by the mods and I have not insulted a single poster. They sure insult me though. Hypocrisy at its finest!

Christ a MOD started a thread insulting me. These kool aids just cant take anyone criticizing Maroney , even in a respectful way!

Exactly. I laugh. The people that disagree with our fair opinion on Maroney are the ones that calls us all the junior high names. What would these guys do if they saw guys like you and I at the bar and this discussion came up? My take would be no different, whether it is on a message board or if I was standing across the bar. I wonder if these guys would talk the way they talk if they couldn't hide behind their computer, LOL!

Haha, you are right on the money. Same story with the passing game last year. You where right then to.

This was from Felger's column today:

"Faulk (33 yards on seven carries) looked much better running the ball than Laurence Maroney [stats] (44 yards on 13 carries) and his late second-quarter strip of Ed Reed on an interception return was a very big play. And while Maroney struggled running again, his 43-yard catch-and-run in the fourth quarter was a huge, huge play."

Of course, the Maroney PR wagon will shoot this down saying Felger is a pats hater, but it's the truth. Anyone that doesn't have an agenda or a Maroney fan club membership card noticed the same thing monday night.
