Is Gilmore on ice?

If you are cleared to practice, you're cleared to play (i think).

I'm on team "something is happening and it's not the concussion" too. Could be another problem, though. Wasnt he reported for an ankle injury too?

Edit: proven wrong by the next post lol

He could participate in non contact practice while still in the concussion protocol.

Here are the steps of the NFL's concussion protocol

Maybe he just ran out quickly to grab a Coolata at Dunkin?

It's called being a good teammate. Game day inactives are usually at the game especially if they were there already. What kind of teammate would drive to the game, be put on inactive, then goes home.
Inactive Pats are rarely at the games. This sequence of events has happened many times before. Besides his teammates seem to have Gilmore’s back vis a vis the press - I am thinking the guy has far less an attitude problem than being speculated about.

I'm 90% sure that Gilmore isn't the type to have a grudge against the Patriots or an attitude issue.

Could Gilmore signing be BillB's biggest blunder? IMO

He was overrated before the signing. Now it seems he is really overrated after the signing.

Maybe the emergence of Johnson Bademosi will make the cornerback scene a bit different later this year?

So going by this logic Edelman isn't a good teammate. Because he hasn't been on the sideline at all this year.

What are you talking about? He was there for the season opener. He has been in the locker room too. Plus he tore his acl and it's a struggle in rehab. The issue here is he had the cognizant ability to drive to the stadium and if he left and went home before the game, that's just a bad teammate.

He was there for the season opener because Kraft asked him to be there to represent the 4th super bowl. He hasn't been at any other game this year. He is in the locker room during the week, he's just not there during the game.

In many cases Belichick specifically requests this to avoid distractions. He wouldn't let Brady be at the stadium during games in 2008. Can you imagine the media scene if Gilmore was found sitting on the bench during the game, or could be found in the locker room after the game? Does that sound like a distraction Belichick wants?

Everybody knew it was a ****ty signing, too

But B.B. never pays any attention to anyone else’s opinion, and that’s not always smart

Maybe he just needed to take a dump and likes his crapper at home better?

Sorry can't let this slide by. That is one of the most erroneous statements I've seen here. BB is well-known for listening to his scouts and all his coaches, even the newbies. He encourages dialog and out-of-the-box thinking.
You don't know what the **** you're talking about. As usual.

Gilmore is the best man coverage CB on the team. He has been blamed for all the communication gaffes and even those he had nothing to do with. IMO, most of the communication gaffes were due to the front seven's inability to stop the run or cover RB's out of the backfield which forced the secondary into unconventional coverage schemes which is why we saw Harmon at FS, McCourty at SS, Chung being the third safety and Richards in some kind of dime package Star LB/Safety position or whatever that was.

Anyways Gilmore played both zone and man vs Tampa and did fine although for some reason Tampa didn't throw many bunch WR formations at him.

Branch getting back into shape has helped. Losing Hightower will hurt but hopefully VV can return from the IR and help plug up the middle. We'll see.

Not if he was seen leaving the stadium. Something else is going on.

Posted about it but that thread got locked right away without explanation. Any of you mods out there care to explain why?

No. Injured and inactives go home. Always have.

If it’s truly related to the concussion, then it must have been bad. But with the reports that they’re talking to Butler about an extension again, there certainly seems to be smoke. Whether or not there’s fire is up for debate.
Wha would extending butler have to with Gilmore? Gilmore’s contract ties him here

Says the fan of a team with Malcolm Butler on it, who got a tryout because each regional scout gets to recommend one player they should bring in to look at.

Well the concussion won't hold up in a couple of weeks against Denver.

Here is the player who caused the concussion

Concussions are no joke, People are acting like he is being benched or is soft but he played a good game against Tampa and brain trauma doesn't have a recovery timetable.

3 weeks for a phantom concussion? Smells off. Either this guy is soft as butter, or he isn't what BB believes to be "the best option for the team" as an active.
