I will say, the favor of starting Mac due to any sort of draft capital prestige decreases in value as time goes on. We're learning more and more about Mac each week. I don't care who starts I just want to see us win games. If that means Zappe smells blood in the water then so be it.
It has nothing to do with when they were drafted (other than the obvious higher opinion you had when you drafted one higher)
Jones clearly can develop into a good NFL QB. Whether he will or not remains to be seen. One mistake filled game doesn’t really move the needle until it becomes frequent mistake filled games.
My distant view (and let’s be clear no one can truly evaluate a player and his potential, growth needs and ceiling effectively without interacting with them consistently) is that he needs to develop a better understanding of the concepts, and approach the offense is built around. He just seems to me to not have a clear vision of what he is trying to do and how to react to obstacles he runs into. He seems a beat late recognizing, and acting. That is coachable. I think it was clear in his rookie year that there were handcuffs built into the game plan to have him limit risk and coach him away from risky decisions. Last year there was a much greater emphasis on making plays down the field and part of the coaching resulted in him abandoning plays too early and running around.
I think OBrien has a clear vision of what he wants Jones to be but it takes work and reps to instill it.
Putting Zappe in is just giving up.

You clearly seem to have forgotten the early 90s.
No but here we are, are we there yet? No but a middling team that’s in 4 years of a rebuild should show some upward momentum. There isn’t any. To get beat like that in the NFL, something here is off.

If it's a losing season I can see Kraft moving on.
mid season doesn't make sense.

Playoffs, to out of the playoffs, to losing record.

Bill can't make any excuses. he picked these players, he picked these coaches, he's doing the coaching.

Doesn't choosing a team to buy tickets and merchandise from make you a customer, just like you are when you choose a restaurant out of all the others?

I can only speak for myself, but I appreciate like mad what the Pats gave me. I've said it here many times that I won't care if we have losing seasons for eternity after the run we had with them. But that doesn't mean that I have to accept the way they've been dumping top talent and not replacing it lately. Those players are who I'm paying to see.
Of course you have to accept it, you have no input in it.
Unless you abandon the team.

If you don’t buy tickets someone else will. They don’t need you.
But all that aside what dies complaining accomplish?

I'm more adamant than most about getting rid of Bill and even I don't want him gone before the end of the season. He should be given that at least.

Keep Corky Gump in and find out.
I think his play was an embarrassment yesterday, let’s get that out of the way. Can you name some QBs that have been available that could thrive here right now with this roster? I’ll wait.

Yep. After they drafted JG and Brady got benched in the KC debacle suddenly Brady started moving around in the pocket like the old days for the first time since having his knee blown out in 2008. That was no coincidence.

Similar story in Tampa Bay 2020. After early struggles he began moving around a lot more.

Lamar Jackson.

Without the fans the whole thing ceases to exist. It is the fans who pay to go to the games, buy jerseys and other apparel, buy the various 50 packages the league nickels and dimes everyone on to be able to watch the games. They owe it to us to but something worth watching and supporting out there on the field. Do they owe it to us to win a Super Bowl every single year? No but they owe it to us to try and field a team that is building towards that and this one isn't.

And for the 500th time Andy, if we didn't come on here and talk about the team then why would we even have this site? And with your logic what good does it do complaining about the complaining of the success of the team? You're right I can just stop watching and then I wouldn't have anything to complain about but I still tune in every Sunday hoping for a surprise.
99% of the fans are loyal. Half the teams lose more than they win. Why are we entitled to never having a down time?
Of course they are trying to build a winner, as are the other 31 teams. A little maturity and graciousness during the down times would seem sensible, given that more teams “fail” than “succeed”.
I just don’t get what people think they accomplish by whining.

For the 501st time, the site is to talk about football, get news, updates, analyze games, etc. I never viewed it as a place to come to tell everyone his unhappy you are and pick which parts of team you want to verbally assault. I will never understand the value in that.

I think he will leave this team after this year and coach for two seasons on another team just for the all time win record
If he specifically wants to knock Shula out of the top spot that's one thing. But if it's about the all-time record it might be all for nothing as Reid has an excellent chance to be #1 all-time so long as Mahomes doesn't suffer some bad injury that cuts his career short.

Baker Mayfield is 3-1 with the Bucs. Derek Carr, which lets face it is likely Mac's absolute ceiling. Gardner Minshew. Josh Dobbs just beat Dallas last week with a worse offensive cast by far. To be clear I'm not a Mac hater. He's just been playing that bad.

Yep, the AJ Brown trade was the one we should have made.
AJ Brown and Jalen Hurts have been friends for a very long time. Jalen Hurts was sitting right next to AJ Brown when the Titans picked Brown in the draft. He wanted to go to the Eagles. I don't know how you can expend those resources on a guy you're going to have to franchise because he doesn't want to be there.

I bet he would've loved to end his career with the Giants, but he probably won't be getting too many wins there either.

To be honest, no one cares how you view this site. People come on here to vent, to learn, to discuss, to get updates, etc. You aren't the gatekeeper of what gets to be said here unless you want to buy the site off of Ian. Also what does your whining about the "whining" accomplish?

What amount of "down time" do you consider acceptable? So far we are in year 4 of a "rebuild" and we look like a worse team than we were the last 2 years. I think for a lot of people on here we wouldn't be so impatient this season if it looked like we were building to something but we are going in reverse. The offense has scored less points each week than the last and the defense isn't fairing well through all the injuries and now on top of being blown out yesterday our two best players are now going to miss an extended amount of time at positions we're already thin at. Can't really see much reason for optimism right now.

I tend to think of money as the great persuader. Perhaps you’re right and no amount of money would have turned him from the Eagles, but it was worth a conversation with his agent.

My opinion is has he lost the locker room ...
I think he has ... most coaches get fired for this ...

But this is a HOF coach ...

Kraft has one of his most difficult professional decisions in his life.
Or perhaps the most difficult decision of his professional life.
IMO the decision to fire BB isn't difficult. The decision of who to hire to coach and GM is the difficult decision...need to get it right don't want to go from frying pan into the fire.

So, given his contract with the Eagles, we would have had to outdo $25m a year average by quite a bit.

$30m a year for Brown plus a 1st rounder?

And of course, that wouldn't have helped us with Mac as QB.
