Ian Rapoport ?@RapSheet 3m
Former #Bears RB Michael Bush is set to visit the #Patriots, source says. Still trying to find that RB after Blount, Moreno signed.

I would create a thread if i could, but i can't, so i won't

Has Blount size but his 3.1 YPC won't make anyone forget Blount.

Bush is 30 years old and has a career 4.0 ypc.

Hopefully not a penny more than vet. min if he's signed. A 4th-7th round RB would be cheaper and better.

I think we very well may see that 4th-7th round draft pick that you speak of, no matter whether Bush signs here or not. Just my opinion though.

Looks like Bush caught almost 40 balls as well in 2011, but his last 2 yrs in CHI really went downhill. Prior to that, he had a 4.2 ypc with OAK.

I hope they don't sign Bush IMO he is the type of vet that BB will fall in love with only 5 fumbles in over 800 att. if he signs and makes the team he will take half of Ridley touches and also get half the yards

Raiders have made some competitive moves this offseason.

I suppose there was nowhere to go but up, but it's good to see them making some reasonable attempts nonetheless.

Maybe we can see them give DEN a competitive game out of the 2x they play?

Anything's possible, but I doubt it. The Broncos should have a pass rush, and Schaub looked as shell-shocked as Cassel did in 2012. Denver's losses will come, but I think we'll need to rely on S.D. and K.C. if we want to see them from the AFCW.

One can hope, Deus. One can hope

And lay an egg when they come here. I do agree, they have what could become a very solid D, an older but potentially excellent running game behind a decent OL with a QB who may just have needed a change of scenery.

The most glaring hole even with Jones addition and steals at TE in last years draft in 6th Rder Rivera and undrafted Streater in 2012, is pass catchers. After those 3 it's zilch. They definitely should be looking WR @5. Saying that, it's still a tough division and i see a 6-10 team.

Yeah, I don't think we're far apart with our predictions. I could see them being a little bit more competitive at something around 7-9, but for them that would be one helluva turnaround considering where they seemed to have been heading. Then again, they're the Raiders so anything above your 6-10 mark seems like a pipedream.

As you said, adding some additional talent at the WR position is a must if you're a fan of the black and silver. They've been attempting to get by with just about nothing. No wonder their fans want D.Jackson...

A UDFA RB would be even cheaper & better. I'm sick of Bill using high-round draft picks
on RBs when we have much greater needs elsewhere, and when the best RBs we've had
in the last 5 years (LawFirm, Sheriff Woody, and PasstheBlount) were all UDFAs.

Mike Reiss ?@MikeReiss 32s
Per @ClaytonESPN, free-agent DE Will Smith, formerly of the Saints, is visiting New England today.

The forgotten man. Let's bring in Ayers as well, the other forgotten DE on the market.

I'd love to sign both and have them replace Andre Carter's and Jake Bequettes roster spots from last season, this allows Buchanan more time to develop, or hopefully, show he can beat one of the others out during training camp.

Went to look up his info and he doesn't seem to have any 2013 stats. Did he miss last year?

No, they weren't.

Eh. Not really interested, and I don't see how Smith gives us more than Carter (IOW, nothing).

No, they weren't.

Seriously. You have to be in denial to think that Ridley and Vereen aren't the two most talented backs the Patriots have had since Corey Dillon, and they were 3rd and 2nd round picks. They may have their foibles - Ridley fumbles more than he should (but not anymore than Blount) and Vereen is injury-prone - but they're your top 2 backs.

Yeah, BJGE was nice for us, but to call him one of the best running backs we've had recently is just ...no.

Someone thinking that Blount is more talented than Ridley isn't in denial. They are observant regarding what played out last year on the field. Someone who thinks Woodhead is more talented than Vereen isn't in denial, either. They are counting consistency, and an ability to stay on the field, as part of that talent.

Chris Harris signed his tender from the Broncos.
