Bradury is 30 years old in June, and was cut by the Vikings because his play slipped in 2024. Bardbury is a place holder which is not similar to Strange's situation at all.
They’re both on what amounts to a one year deal… that’s similar.

They were both drafted in the 1st round - that's similar. They both play on the OL in the NFL - that's similar too.

If Strange takes the center job they’ll extend him, if Bradbury takes the center job they’ll likely extend him.

Either way they’ll look for a young center to potentially play center and compete with Jake Andrews as well. One of these guys will play well assuming health.

Lots of juicy rumors that the Eagles and Pats have discussed the possibility of trading the Pats pick (#4 overall) for AJ Brown and the Eagles pick (#32 overall)

What say ye?

AJ Brown Stats - A.J. Brown Stats, Height, Weight, Position, Draft, College | Pro-Football-Reference.com
- 17 game average - 84 rec, 1327 yards, 9 TDs
AJ Brown Salary - https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/player/_/id/29087/aj-brown
- average cap hit about $23M
Trade Value Chart - 2025 NFL Trade Value Chart
- 2200 points for #4, 590 for #32, essentially valuing Brown at 1600 which is about the same as pick 6
no way. They would need to kick in some more picks

We'll just have to agree to disagree: I would say the disappointing guy last year was Pop Douglas. 621yds coming off a 561 Rookie season is disappointing in my book. I think Boutte have a Higher ceiling than Bourne - Polk - Baker and Hollins combined.
Both were disappointing. Being the tallest midget isn’t a complement.
Douglas at least has + skills in quickness and agility in the slot to be a WR3.
Boutte wouldn’t be WR2 on any other teams.

Not really:

On with David Andrews and considering the scheme going back to Josh McDaniels, since he's been in it, why not give him the opportunity to see if he could come back and earn a spot on that team:

"We felt like that was best decision for us. We thank David for his contributions and what he's done. I thought it was best for our football team that we move on, and we're excited about the guys that we got up front. We're able to add Garrett Bradbury, and Cole [Strange]'s worked hard at center the last couple of weeks of the season, which he did and played there, and it was pretty impressive, considering he hadn't spent a bunch of time there."

On if he'll keep Cole Strange at center and if that's the plan:

"I mean, I think he'll work on the interior three, but I think to give him an opportunity to compete at center and build off of what he did at the end of last year."

Maybe saying, "Strange will most likely be staying at Center," is a bridge too far, but it certainly sounds like the possibility is there for him to stay at center. So it's not necessarily "fake news."
The fake news was that “he is staying at C”.
He will be able to play both G and C. We have much better option at C than LG so while strange could play either LG is where he fits on this roster.
People were taking those comments and saying ok he’s just the backup C now. Thats not close to true.
If a LG emerged that was better than Bradbury, Strange could be moved to C but that’s not where we are.

I would say he's closer to being the center right now than he is the left guard. Again, I'm basing that on Vrabel's comments, which I would say have indicated that's the more likely scenario at this point, barring any health issues. That and some of the things I've read about Bradbury. So far, it sounds like Strange would be the better player if he's healthy. But - to make the point - I'd be more surprised to see him land back at guard than I would to see him starting at center Week 1.

Time to jell to me means time to build a team. Unless you have a ton of picks, it takes years in most cases.
Well then you should follow the conversation instead of jumping n and acting like you know what it’s about.
The comment at question was that the team has too many new players so it needs time to jell.
It wasn’t about time to build a team, but if it were, those teams are also great examples of why the Patriots ought to be able to win now.

No that’s not at all how I took it. They asked him about C and he mentioned they just got Bradbury and also noted that strange did a good job there.
It wasn’t a depth chart analysis, it was really an off the cuff comment and ended with him saying strange can okay any iol position.
Who would be your LG?

I don't know, man, he seemed pretty high on Strange having a strong shot at it.

As for left guard, probably Layden Robinson, Sidy Sow, or whoever else either emerges from the other current obscure names. Or maybe a potential draft pick from this year's class, depending on what happens this weekend.

That’s some deep reading between the lines.
Do you really think we paid Bradbury 9.5 mill for 2 years with 3.8 guaranteed (14 th highest C aav) so he could sit on the bench and watch guys who probably dint belong in the league play?

I don't see how Vrabel's comments can be construed any other way. That's a lot of praise while directly referring to his performance at that specific position last season.

As for Bradbury, they had to take some chances to build quality depth, and they wisely spent a little more to do that. As we know, that offensive line was in tough shape last year, and center in particular, especially after Jake Andrews went down. Didn't leave much margin for error and David Andrews getting hurt was one of the unluckiest things we saw last season. Couldn't really afford to lose him because his backup was already hurt. All things considered, Brown did a serviceable job, but they're essentially starting over. They absolutely needed to make sure they added guys who could contribute.

But yes, if Strange outperforms him (and Jake Andrews), I'm sure he'll get the nod. Performance always trumps money. Unless someone gets hurt or they don't have anyone they believe can step in and play well at guard. But if that's how things look come August, that would definitely be concerning. Guard's a position they've at least had plenty of bodies for, and if Onwenu is healthy, it should only be left guard they're worrying about.

If you read Vrabel comments from the perspective of discussing who can play center and that they just acquired Bradbury but if something goes wrong Strange can play there too, it makes a lot more sense than saying he just announced he signed Bradbury for nothing.

Strange is the LG he’s not competing against Bradbury to play C.

You are arguing what amounts to that the 2 best players for LG and C have to fight it out and only one can play while he stick a scrub in at LG.

Again you don’t pay the 14 highest C pay to sign a backup so you can play Sidy Sow.

Strange probably will outplay Bradbury but he will be doing it as the LG. Both are undoubtedly 2 of the best 5. Both will be starters.

Vrabel literally said that quote last week:

"... but I think to give him an opportunity to compete at center and build off of what he did at the end of last year."

Sounds a lot to me like he'll get a chance to compete for the job at center.

I get I didn't go to college, I'm not an English major, and I've never claimed to be smart. Lord knows I've also had my own share of bad takes, etc. However, in this instance, I'm just working off of a quote that came directly out of the guy's mouth barely a week ago.

And I hear you on the fact both guys might end up starting if that's how it plays out, especially if no one else pans out at guard. But you're inferring there's no shot for Strange to compete at center and that's not at all what Vrabel said. And recently, no less.
