Curran: NFL has a Giant Sense of Entitlement

I've noticed in other forums the same assumption and they use that as "proof" of the Patriots' guilt.

For example, someone will quote that moron Borges or Shank Shaunessey and then say something like "See..?!? Even the Boston writers think the Patriots are guilty so that means they really are guilty."

Our Quisling sports media doing what they do best, trash the greatest franchise in the league.

What I think is dumb (among many other things) is people will say that the Steelers getting "caught" with deflated footballs doesn't matter because they weren't repeat offenders (ditto with the Giants walkie talkies).

Leaving aside all of the times those teams HAVE cheated in the past, shouldn't that same logic be applied to the Patriots in 2007 with the cameras? We weren't repeat offenders then but we still lost a first round draft pick which is leaps and bounds above any of these other punishments.

And also....so if you cheat, for example with walkie talkies, then it's OK because it's only your first time? WTF.

I mean, I know I'm using reason and logic here, and that went out the window a long time ago. But still.

That's a fetish he's gonna have a tough time duplicating in the future.

"Yeah, so, what I want is for you to come by dressed as a cheerleader. Then you just do cheerleader stuff, ya know, dance around, wave your pom poms, that sort of thing. No, no, you leave your clothes the whole time. You're just cheering. Me? I'm gonna be dressed as a security guard. Oh, there's gonna be a bunch of other people there, pretending to watch a football game...Hello? Hello?"

The other baffling part of the equation is the amnesia that strikes the league, media and fans as soon as the usually light punishment is handed down. The Steelers are the only team fine for having a head coach obstruct a kick returner (preventing a TD) and for a player faking an injury. Yet there are people out there who claimed they're a first time in the deflated footballs situation. The same thing with the Seahawks and Ravens breaking the offseason practice rules. Baltimore has been caught at least twice and Seattle at least 3 times. They never get a "repeat offender" status or a "cheater" label.

The article missed one of the most blatant acts of hypocrisy in the NFL. The Falcons were caught red handed pumping in artificial crowd noise at their stadium. What does the NFL give them? A slap on the wrist. Why? Because they weren't very good that year. If it would have been the Patriots, there would have been hell to pay since there is a "cheating culture" in New England. And it would have been front page news on every single news outlet worldwide. Why? Because the Patriots win. And Bill Belichick is "arrogant" with the media.

345 Park reeks with a sense of superiority, entitlement and privilege. Always remember they are better than you and you will never, ever be part of the NFL's Old Guard. Ever.

OK, I could really only think of 3 good responses:

1) Yeah but still, it's nice to see Ryan Leaf working again....

2) That is the most despicable thing I can imagine. I mean, the SD cheerleaders aren't even all that hot...

3) Where does he think he is, Buffalo?!?!?

I know you were only kidding but.......yeah, bunch of skanks.
Charger Girls Squad

Problem is, you're saying that assuming that Boston media members would naturally take the side of the Patriots. Your underestimation of Borges, CHB, Ryan, Felger, etc. will be your undoing....
Ha, exactly. No, I just meant the general echo chamber of this board or other people who think what we think. We're right, of course. But it's like politics, not many people are open to changing their minds.
