Patriots Player Departure Conflicting reports on who was repsonsible for the decision to trade Jimmy (Kraft or Belichick???)

BB has maybe 2 years of left, i wouldn't be shocked if him and Brady retire together
Now that they’re starting over from scratch on the Brady succession plan, I expect him to leave with Brady whereas I didn’t expect that before.

I believe that Kraft approved the trading of Bledsoe and of JAG.

If Bill was going to trade Brady, I think that he would seek Kraft's approval.

Also, if Bill want to hire Kaepernick, I think that he would need Kraft's approval.

An owner, even as hands off as Kraft does, in the interest of his business, needs to have input and final approval to certain decisions.
Of course he involves Bob but the battle is won before the war is fought.

BB always has the justification. Bob is a rubber stamp.

Brady= younger, cheaper, winner of a SB. That was a rubber stamp.

The trading TB12 discussion would be delicate no doubt, but if Bill presented a comprehensive plan with favorable financials, multiple risk mitigation strategies and demonstrated how the team would be competitive for the next 10 years, Bob would rubber stamp that as well.

Hard to say

This whole goddamn board is a hot take.

****ty posters are cold takes.

It's a good point. I mean we're all just here to read what we've typed and think "That makes up for the size of my penis."

This thread belongs in the practice forum. With all the ifs, buts and maybe's you've put out there, to create the reason for this thread, it is of absolutely no value whatsoever to Pats fans on this site. With over 7000 posts, I'd hoped that you better understood how things work with the Patriots.
Should have been sent there long ago.

First time I've ever used the "Ignore Thread" feature (available at the top of each page for those who care to know).

Bye, y'all...

Really, can we stop this ****?

Aren't we better than this?
You’ve been away from this board for a while, haven’t you?

Not to be a ****, but I don't see how it matters. What's done is done. If we gave up JG for a 40 year old QB and jimmy turns out to be a top five QB and we, like the majority of teams, struggle to find a competent replacement for Brady, we will mark that as the turning point, the beginning of the end of our dynasty. But what's the difference who's fault it is?

This move goes completely against the way Bill operates. So I find it credible. Is it true? Hell if I know. Nor do I care. All that matter is in a few years we are very likely like the rest of the league and have a lousy QB.

Next year's draft is supposed to be pretty deep in QB's, so, with three picks in the first two rounds, it is hoped that BB can select an eventual Brady replacement. That said, no dynasty goes on forever and the Patriots' run will end some day.

Now that they’re starting over from scratch on the Brady succession plan, I expect him to leave with Brady whereas I didn’t expect that before.
If that happens, the did TB make BB debate will go on for all time. But if TB retires and the Pats suck under BB, there will be a stronger argument for TB made BB. Personally, I think they made each other great. BTW, who is the backup?

I'm going to give the golf reporter the benefit of the doubt and accept that heard something at some point, put it his pocket....then pulled it out and attempted to connect the dots after yesterday's trade.
So the next question is: who in Brady's world is also affiliated in some way in with the PGA?
After hours of self reflection followed by an intense regimen of hydration and brain games, the only logical conclusion is......wait for it.....Under Armour.
Think about it. Brady has gone all in with Under Armour, flying around the world on their corporate jet with the CEO and executives and it is reasonable to assume Brady's longevity was a serious topic of discussion when putting together his endorsement deal. These same Under Armour execs are all over the PGA events with many of its biggest stars wearing the brand, and some of these stars have teed it up with TB12 a time or two. Maybe it was the CEO, maybe it was Spieth.
Regarding the gossip "BB might get rid of Brady after '17".....If Brady said it or even thought it, I can understand why he might come to that conclusion. Despite letting the world know over the past few years that his goal was to play until he reached 45, his coach refused to even consider JG trade opportunities last offseason.
Who knows...but I like my Under Armour connection theory.
Anyone else want to toss out a name

I wonder if trading JG has to do with keeping Malcolm Butler ? There is only 1 franchise tag and 2 players. Butler became more important when Gilmore did not perform to the expected level and JG not accepting team friendly deal.

I warned you: I think if we lose one more WR we call in Randy Moss. I see him licking his chops and ready to play ball. Sign the beast!
