Ceasars: "Patriots roster outside of cornerback 'one of the worst in the NFL'"

What if Tom was the problem? What if Stid lights it up? What if Harry's development is no longer held back by crabby Tom Brady?

What if we have a heavy snowfall in July?

Toms last 9 games
56% comp, 224ypg, 1.2 passingTD/G, 80 rating , 20ppg, 2.0 offensive TDs/G

Blame it on whomever but the last 9 games the offense was garbage. No sugar coating it.

Around 20ppg and 220 ypg puts you exactly at slightly below average.

For what we have been used to this is garbage but from an objective point of view it is a bit below average with a sizable gap down to the real garbage offenses like the Redskins, Bills, Jets, Steelers and so on.

I am not saying the offense was good but saying it was garbage when there is still a long way down to the worst teams in the league is just emotional hyperbole.

The question I am gonna ask is Stid 80% of Tom Brady, circa 2019.

If he can be 80% of what Brady was in 2001 it would already be a good sign. Give him maybe a couple year to gain experience before comparing him to the version of Brady "with all the answers".

"Garbage" is extreme. Fine

Scoring 13 offensive points a game is not good for any team

Yup, we are. We are gonna learn that the 43 year old is still the GOAT, or, we are gonna learn that he's a shadow of the GOAT at 43.

The Bucs will be in the NFCCG at worst and we'll be 9-7 at best. And honestly it's fine if we do...but we need a QB of the future. Hoyer and Stidham don't cut it beyond next season.

Brady didn't look like he fell off physically in any way last season. Even 75% Tom Brady would be more than enough to get to a conference title game.

I think you're overestimating the position of the Bucs. As of right now, the NFC has

Saints
49ers
Seahawks
Packers
Cowboys
Eagles
Vikings
Rams (maybe)

as teams who would have a very fair shot at winning a single playoff game against the Bucs.

Yeah, I am with @Deus Irae on this... They are far from a lock. The Pats didn't win a bowl from 04-13 with Brady. Nothing is certain. Tampa is far from a lock, and none of us know if Stid is the future. I will grant you that Hoyer is in no way the future.

The one thing that is sure is that Tom Brady will not have 30 interceptions and
12 fumbles.

Saints - Only team the Bucs need to worry about because they are in the division.
49ers - Will probably be good, but history says they'll probably have a hangover. It's hard to duplicate their formula last season and have the same success.
Seahawks - They'll always be a nuisance, but they're missing pieces.
Packers - Non threat. They overachieved and fell into the #2 seed which won't happen again. Rodgers still has to play "Magic Man" on offense. Can the Packers get Rodgers some more guys to throw to? Jezus.
Cowboys - Non threat.
Eagles - Non threat. Wentz is a JAG.
Vikings - Non threat.
Rams (maybe) - They're done.

The post being responded to said

so you post doesn't make any sense, in context.

It's also not a given that he'll play a complete game for the Bucs, either (see: Pollard, Bernard).

The rubber hits the road for real this season.

My theory is that Brady covered up for a lot of poor to terrible drafting. With TFB the Pats always won 10 games plus and made the post season. NE owned the division, though truthfully, the AFCE has been pretty bad over the last 20 years.

Compile a group of problematic and misfit NFL WRs (with the exception of Edelman) and basically no TE and NE still won 12 games last season. 16 - 0 was a reality last season. We as spectators have become so immune to winning that its expected. Some NFL franchises require 2 seasons to win 12 games.

The old cliche is that "you do not realize what you had until its gone." Were about to find out.
Let's be a bit more half glass full about this. If Brady left us with an average team, we'd be stuck in the Cowboys pattern of mediocrity after their 90s run. Instead, we've got an old team facing a crushing schedule with unproven play at quarterback. If we fail miserably, we'll suddenly be flush with ideal shots at talent in a year after moving on from the GOAT. That's fantastic news, even if it means the bandwagon fans won't get another playoff run.

After Jimmy Johnson left, the Cowboy coaches, including the Tuna, in no way measured up to Belichick.

With predictions like this, tell me tomorrow's winning lotto numbers

Don’t think that’s fair. Safety is good, linebacker is at least OK with Hightower still on the team and Bentley being possibly good. DL has a couple good players and a lot of unknowns. The OL is good - Wynn Thuney Andrews Mason Cannon is a really solid OL. Michel/Burkhead/White is at least average. The receivers and tight ends and quarterbacks could be better, sure.

Overall there are absolutely worse rosters. The draft hasn’t even happened yet. Dumb statement.
You were expecting maybe a "Smart statement?"

Stidham if he is the guy (which is far from a guarantee) probably won’t be asked to carry the offense and do what Brady did. I expect he will have the reins on like Brady did when he started. Brady had some real stinkers early on and JS will be no different.
