Carter & Hunter gone by 4# Trade down?

I know some of you Patsfans don't like Dion Sanders because he's very outspoken. But make no mistake about it he can Coach: and have nothing but glowing remarks when talking about Travis Hunter.

Not to be pessimistic, but if you watch his media, he, like most other college coaches, has nothing but good things to say about his players. His number one goal and measure of success is getting his players drafted high. It’s not even about championships anymore really.

That’s the main consideration high school prospects value when choosing their college. Thats basically what allowed Bama and Sabin to have their long successful run. Top recruits knew by committing there, it would basically secure them a top 100 pick and future financial security,. At the end of the day, future college recruits favor coaches whom get their players drafted high, over coaches whoms players get second NFL contracts or win national championships.

If that is the case then stay put at 4 and take the guy you like whether he is projected a few picks later or not. Ideally for me we take Campbell there as long as they see him as a tackle.
Sure. As long as they take a guy who's an R1 guy and don't go all Belichickian and take a Cole Strange.

I expect Graham to be there at 4 and beyond Carter, I don't see him behind anyone else. What keeps me from getting too excited about Hunter is this. I can't forget the simple no brain strategy of Bills' very effective tactic to combat Revis over the years. He simply figured out who he was covering... and never threw him the ball. That is why it was such an advantage for the Pats never to really have a #1 WR, you never had anyone to focus your D on.l

While having Hunter would definitely be a plus on defense and add some flexibility and depth to the offense, I don't see him as being as impactful as a guy like Graham who can impact up to 30 or 40 individual plays per game each week.

On the other hand, I could be enticed to drop as many as 6 or 7 picks for the right package if guys like Warren and Walker are around. The hype on those and others are starting to peak my interest. However, we are having this discussion because the VERY top end talent this year is very thin

Campbell or Graham
I just don't see the logic of Graham. Especially if we get news in the next month or two positive related to Barmore.

Even then, the DT class is so deep and there are good options in FA. Very few OT's will be viable options by our pick in round 2.

Even if they get positive news regarding Barmore his uncertainty going forward I think should be a big concern in terms of long term availability.

Graham or trade down. Anything else is a fail. If by some lack of luck, Carter, Hunter and Graham go 1-2-3 and nobody wants to trade up then whatever at that point.

I think in that scenario, someone is going to want to move up for a QB.

Graham or Hunter. Zero problem with tooth

My larger hope is some team gets desperate for whatever QB is left and does something stupid.

But can you really complain if you wind up with Hunter and Gonzalez at 21 and 22 years respectively as your CB duo? The potential there is insane

Barring a catastrophic injury to Ward leading up to the Draft, I can't see any scenario where all three of the Titans, Browns, and Giants, all needing a QB, pass on QB. But let's say for the sake of argument that they do. Between the Raiders, Jets, Saints, Steelers, have to think at least one of them will take the opportunity to trade up for him. Best partner would be the Raiders since it would only be moving down two spots. If for some reason the NFL sours on all these QB's and nobody trades, then take the best non-QB available with an emphasis on positional need. That'll be either Campbell or McMillan at that point, and I'd be okay with either.

Just throwing it out there but another sensational athlete who will be avaikable st 4 is Ashton Jeanty

I know he is a rb but if we are talking about potential difference makers. Look what Barkley did for eagles

Dante said he would not pick any OL in top 10 this year.

No Jonathan Ogdens out there

Listen to Dante.

At this point I’m against trading down because I see teams trying to get cute and end up screwed in the process. Trading down guarantees nothing. Stand pat (pun intended) and take bpa UNLESS a giant offer comes around.

They have him working out as a corner. If he's a corner I really don't want him.

I heard Barth make a good point about why he maybe going to the combine as a DB, its all about scheduling. Basically the DBs are ahead of the WRs in the schedule. Here is the schedule, and sections with the boxes around them are in theory would Hunter would do. It is the most straightforward way to do everything, including the DB and WR testing.

Love Jeanty as a prospect but the difference between him and Barkley (aside from Barkley being a better prospect coming in to the NFL) is the Eagles offense, especially their offensive line, allowed for Barkley to have the best season of his career. Jeanty is terrific but he's only going to be as good as the holes that this OL will open up for him to run through. This is a RB deep class and I'm in favor of them drafting a guy but not with the 4th overall pick. Also agreed on OL, there are no Joe Alt type prospects at the top of this draft. I do like Simmons but he's a health risk and probably more of a lower 1st round pick.

I agree not with 4th overall but maybe with a trade back. True he is not a Saquon Barkley but in addition to being a dynamic runner and a good blocker he can also really pass catch.
He would present lots of options for McDaniels

He is a much better rb than Will Campbell is a left tackle.

I'm telling you, if Shedur is still on the board, trade with the Jets so they can get stuck with him. He is going to be mid on the pro level and gives us a chance to F them over
