How much does Vrabel like Campbell or Membou?

Presuming that we can't get Hunter or Carter, one option is to trade down once or twice, and then draft Simmons or Conerly. I think that we can trade into the 15-19 range and probably have our choice, being very, very likely to get one of them.

Simmons and Conerly jr are both expected to go in the late first round (#23-32), so they are options for a trade UP from our second round pick. I can’t imagine a scenario where we pick either of them with our first pick.

There are also no QB needy teams who are picking in the teens. The lowest I can see them going with their first pick is #9. A double trade down is possible I guess, but would be very unlikely.

MG's scenario is entirely possible, if the Pats' second round gets loaded up and/or future picks are garnered.

Yes, that’s what I said. They’re possible options if we trade up from our second pick. This scenario is about picking them much higher than they are projected to go with our first pick after trading down.

They haven’t addressed the LT position this offseason. Considering the run on tackles last draft, over-drafting one is fine to ensure you get that position filled.

Yes, I am ok trading down for extra picks as long as they don’t miss out.

interesting to note... Miamis LT Terron Armstead just retired... not sure about the depth the have across their line, but it could be Miami will now be considering a replacement in the draft...

I think the trade down is the best option if Carter and Hunter are off the board. Based on the way things have gone for the past several years I expect the top 4 LT prospects, Campbell, Membou, Banks, and Simmons IMHO to be gone in the top 20, with Simmons’ injury being the biggest X factor here. Given what I think is the lack of elite talent in this class I think the return for #4 will be disappointing in comparison to what we’ve seen in years past but I’d like to see the Pats move down to the early teens for at least a 3rd, I’d take a 2026 1st and a 4th for it also.

I doubt we can get simmons from trading up with our second rd pick. I think in a trade down it would be a more lilely scenario to get him. Maybe around 10-15? Same for Conerly, i think his ranking on the mock big board simulators is way too low

I just don’t think anyone is trading up for Sanders. If the browns and Giants pass on him, New Orleans is basically the only other team that would take him until the late 20s. They have no incentive to trade up. I just don’t envision the Patriots getting a trade down offer. They are going to have to swallow hard and pick at 4. I believe it will be Campbell.

Why is everyone so obsessed with trading back?

Who are these teams that took top ten picks traded back and parlayed it into winning?

Thanks, someone got it!
Godzilla has kicked everybody's ass since I was a little kid.

I’m fine with Campbell, but I would take Simmons Conerly every time.

The interest in trading back is because the OT’s seem to all be on the same tier, although not all equal. So you can move to ten, get a good 2nd round pick, get your tackle, and then have the capital to trade back into the first round for another player. Basically it makes the most sense in terms of value, but it’s just one of their options at 4.

Simmons will probably play 1/2 next year, we'll have Lowe or some other bum until then Huck.

IF we trade back just far enough to draft Will Campbell (gaining an extra 2d Round Pick which will give us two), I'd then use one of those 2nd Round Picks and a 3rd or whatever would get us back into the 1st Round enough to also get Simmons (if they like his medical reports), or Conerly Jr. Then, hopefully get Jayden Higgins with our second 2nd Round Pick. That way, if Campbell can be a solid or better LT, then Simmons or Conerly Jr. can be a Swing Tackle/Backup LT/Possible flip to RT when Moses leaves. Or, worse case scenario, Campbell is put at LG and Simmons or Conerly Jr. get put at LT. Even if we don't get Higgins with the second 2nd Round Pick, we need to get one of those 2nd Round gems at WR (and NOT another Slot WR).
