Patriots Announce Jersey Numbers For Newly Acquired Veteran Players
Steve Balestrieri - PatsFans.com
On Tuesday, the New England Patriots formally announced the jersey numbers for their 2020 free agent veteran signings over social media.
For those wondering, the “cursed” number 17 was not assigned to anyone and returning quarterback Bryan Hoyer receives number 2 for a second time.
Hoyer wore 8 from 2009-2011 during his first stint with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent signing.
Check out the full list of jersey number assignments below.
2 – QB Brian Hoyer
10 – WR Damiere Byrd
13 – WR Marqise Lee
21 – S Adrian Phillips
22 – S Cody Davis
45 – FB Danny Vitale
52 – OLB Brandon Copeland
94 – DT Beau Allen
As for the rookies, those number selections will not come until the start of the preseason schedule later this summer but even those numbers are subject to change by the start of the regular season and final cuts.
In recent seasons, Bill Belichick has assigned numbers in the 50’s to rookies during training camp.
