NFL Ad Rates Soar as Marketers Clamor for Time in TV's Last Great Reach Vehicle

Shocked that Viagra and Cialis aren't in the top 10.

Sounds perfectly reasonable to me. Sadly, "reasonable" does not seem to be a job requirement for commissioner of a multi-billion dollar corporation.

With Goodell it's either "spin the wheel of discipline" or here's an opportunity to screw the team that wins too much coupled with some dipsh*tty "No More" ad campaign.

No kidding. That "No More" ad ..... Holy sh*t.

I think violence towards women by NFL players happens more than we can possibly imagine. The owners and Goody know this.

I think if the league suspended all the players who committed violence towards women there would be a hefty number of them sitting out a few games on a regular basis.

They want to sweep this under the rug badly. The problem is that because of their incompetence, lack of moral construct and inept PR skills, they are making it much, much worse.

Which is just proof that the league doesn't care about STOPPING domestic violence, they care about nobody knowing how often it truly happens.

When it leaks out, they'll screw up the penalty a few times, eventually suspend the player (who still gets paid), and then pretend it didn't happen.

They need to be transparent, lifetime bans (not paid ******** like Josh Brown) for a few more players. Maybe then it will finally sink into players heads that 1.) They WILL be caught, and 2.) They won't be making $$

No.

They need to get the hell out of the off-the-field-discipline business.

The problem with lifetime bans is that it creates a huge consequence for the victim which most likely will inhibit them from speaking out to begin with. They would have to chose their financial stability for their children and themselves over getting help for the abuser and themselves.

If victims did not fear that loss more of them would likely speak out. More abusers would be put on notice and get mandatory counseling.

how can this guy continue to "lead" the league? A little bit of vindication for the GOAT regarding the deflate-gate railroading job too..

Hurley: After Making Most Offensive Statement, Roger Goodell Deserves To Lose Job As NFL Commissioner

Please write more articles like this AND tie it in with reduced viewership.

Business often lets things slide a long, long time. Then there is that day of reckoning. Will it be this year's ratings? A strike in a few years? Something else?

We still have football addicts that will put up with anything - it's just got to get a little worse to reach critical mass on this critical mess.

I think that's part of it but I also think it's a combination of things.

One that I find interesting is the CTE angle which has been around for about 15 years or so.

I believe parents have been increasingly opting for their kids to play in other less dangerous sports because of CTE concerns, and the lack of trust in the NFL's handling of it, that may have led to some of the decline.
I don't think that shoe has dropped yet. The NFL has been making a lot of idiotic, short-sighted decisions that have only begun to hit them. Right now it's just the decision to put money over product quality, terrible PR, and the erosion fan trust. They still have the CTE fallout, relationship with the players, and relationship with the media to weather.

I agree or at least in that they change their handling process. Wait for a conviction in some cases. (which you've mentioned in another thread iirc)

Pretty that most professions you can get canned for inappropriate conduct outside your "work environment".

If convicted. Right?

I seriously wonder what his wife thinks. If I behaved that way Mrs RW would kill me if not divorce me. maybe she would kill me then divorce me?

There's a lot of immoral women out there. It would not surprise me if she has the same mentality as the fuhrer.

Very true.

Can you tell my job that, too?

This isn't an issue with an employer. NFL players are employed by NFL teams. That's a different issue.
