Running backs tend to lower their heads and duck down when they take a handoff (which is part of the setup for play-action fake), so it's certainly plausible a helmet strap (which snaps in near the top of the helmet) would be in the general area of Brady's hand...not to mention it obviously was a mistake, so maybe there was a mess up in the backfield and either Brady or the RB was in the process of falling. I mean it's not like they were on the grassy knoll or something like that.

He has a good track record of seeing video tape of a play that caused an injury and then projecting the nature of the injury. That is nothing like the sparse bit of info /non-info that he had to work with here.

Toughness is often overlooked when evaluatng QB's & there's so tougher QB I've seen than Brady.
