Are we ignoring the recent Guerrero news?

It really is a huge controversy isn't it though?

Let's see....Spygate! Dehategate! Gaygate! Rulechangegate! Hairgate! Footweargate!!...17 straight years of stellar play by Brady and the Patriots means nothing...it's all about repugnant little dwarves like Gasbaggarotti and balloon boys like this POS Bloatrand that counts for anything with today's Pats fans. No one ENJOYS the game anymore. It's all about "hot takes" and ripping and tearing away at every goddamned miniscule little ripple that emanates from Foxboro.

Your long-distance assessment of Guerrero makes sense, but of course none of us can know.

The one point where I'd disagree is that "Every NFL team potentially wants what he does for them."

I'm not sure that this is potentially a multi-team business. For example, if he's working both with the Pats and Steelers, I doubt the Pats would want someone working with the Steelers to know what's really up with Brady's "Achilles" and I suspect the Steelers would feel the same way about someone working with the Pats knowing too much about Brown's "Calf."

It would probably be possible to work with individuals, unrelated to their teams, but the line would have to be defined extremely carefully.
This is where trust or confidentiality agreements come in.

Theoretically, AG can worth with any player he wants. He is not legally bound to the Patriots whatsoever

I had the same epiphany at 35 after I quit smoking. I've incorporated as much of the TB12 diet I can stand without wanting to stab myself. It really is the most boring diet ever, but it works. When I started playing organized softball again a few years ago, I was in pretty bad shape...back issues, weak arms, weak core, etc. Changing my diet, and getting back into real shape has caused me to be able to play infield again at 2B. I had been playing catcher the first 3 seasons due to my back problems. I've fixed my back issues through yoga, and now I'm salivating at the upcoming season, as I wanna try for shortstop.

I'm turning 40 in a month, and I feel like I'm 21. I plan on proclaiming my age ironically every chance I get after my birthday lol.

I feel you, brother. I struggled with 40... but I wear 50 like a badge of honor. It's gotta be like that for TB too.

"Ha, I'm a 40 year old man and I beat your ass... again"

"...with any player he wants on the player's own time."

The media's really trying to spin this story. Like it will be a big distraction for the team. Give me a break.
This current team thrives on distractions.
Brady thrives on being mad. He plays his best football when he's angry.
It could all unravel and go to hell after the first Sunday in February, but until then all is good.

Can't wait to turn 60 eh? I got good news ...and I got bad news.

The good is "it's good to be the king". After 60 you feel..."think I'll stick around for more of this.."

The bad news..."I went to the doctor last week, he gave me two weeks to live....I couldn't pay him...he gave me another six months"

My philosophy on life at this point? JUST KEEP BREATHING...

good luck and keep on keeping on...

LMAO!!

When I'm 60, I'll consider retirement but last year our oldest player was 64 so I have lots of incentive to keep it going!

Shaugnessy has expounded some mental masturbation in the Globe this morning, something about "storm clouds over Gillette".. can Borges be far behind??.

Yesterday turned on talk radio and Bertram trying desperately to push this controversy and make it something more than it is.. of course the smartest football guy in the room, Zolak, was twiddling his thumbs... thank goodness they are probably all going on vacation this week and maybe their fill ins can discuss sports, rather than trying to create Pats conflict.. the depths that these sportstalkers will descend to fuel any controversy is troubling.

For some reason local media want to see the Pats fail and Belichick look like a fool..

If the Patriots somehow lose this Sunday, prepare for the idiocy spouted on the airwaves next week and somehow this hypothetical loss will be because of the "storm clouds" created by the Guerrero/Brady/Belichick controversy.. they told us so.

Absolutely correct. A Bills win Sunday would be the greatest gift possible for the radio nitwits, possibly only exceeded by the original birthing in Bethlehem 2000 plus years ago. Imagine the extraordinary good fortune of having that juicy carcass to chew upon during the historically slow Christmas week. Yum...

some of us are salivating

just kidding......its humor

Shaugnessy secretly(or openly) hates the pats because they have overtaken his beloved Red sox as #1 in boston. Watch the hit pieces come out on the celtics next now that they are #2 and red sox have slipped.

Jeff howe said his sources say this story is much ado about nothing. Ill take his word over mr. tomato can shaugnessy.

Bedard's story is no longer behind a paywall for those interested: How much of a concern is this Alex Guerrero/Bill Belichick rift for the Patriots?

I just read it.

I don't know if I see the situation any differently than I do now.
  • Guerrero's course of treatment was in conflict with the training/medical staff's and they *****ed to BB
  • Bill had a problem and re-established the boundaries between the NEP and Guerrero. Clearly Kraft allowed BB to do this.
  • Tom is exempt with the exception he needs to pay for AG's T&E like everyone on the team would do.
Bedard definitely added some drama to it (see BB/Kraft/TB12 brokered meeting that didn't happen before MIA game) but nothing really anything I didn't already know or makes the situation worse than what has been reported.

I just hope that Yoko doesn't cause TFB with his Mick skin to get melanoma with his wacko drinking water to prevent sunburn advice.

Disagree about Shank loving the Red Sox. If he has a binkie, it's the Celtics, although he's largely a nondiscriminatory hitman. He'll cheap shoot anyone if it suits him. He's libeled and slandered Ortiz for years and the 2004 Red Sox entire team froze him out after he, in June of that year, he called them 25 frauds. But you're right in that he has a special hatred for the Krafts, in particular, and the Patriots, in general. It all goes back to the Pats having a media breakfast in the late 90s and they turned away Shank at the door.

While we are on the Yoko Guerrero path, depending on what you believe there were multiple reasons for the Beatles breakup.
  • Epsteins Death
  • Emergence of George Harrison
  • Artistic differences between PM, GH and JL.
  • Because the stopped touring and started more solo projects, lack of collaboration
  • Lennon in deep depression b/c of drugs and letdown by Maharishi
  • Ono in the studio which led to McCartney bringing in Linda which led to Harrison bringing in Patti Boyd to the studio.
  • Apple a financial mess
I always thought Yoko got a bad rap but I get the analogy. PM and GH agreed to it and even went along so you can't really blame her or JL.

Lets hope the 2017 season is more like Sgt Peppers and less like the White Album and Let It Be....

The media loves controversy. That alone doesn’t bother me, but what bothers me is how hard they try to make one up.

Not sure why Brady would have a problem with the patriots when Guerrero is the guy who is out of line.
