AB toying with us again

I've already promised to leave the board if he re-signs with the Pats and not come back until the team is cleared of him. Unlike him, I'm a man of my word.

I don’t want you to leave at all, but (if that happens) before you do, you need to come here and face the music. I did after my failed “season over” projection of last year. I’ll take it easy on you. I promise.

I don’t how see adding AB in anyway diminishes the standard of being a Patriot, unless the standard is to be someone who cannot be frivolously and falsely accused via a civil suit.

You continue with the strawman of the civil lawsuit. You know better. He PLAYED the Miami game days after the lawsuit was made public. He practiced the entire next week UNTIL it was made public that he group texted ANOTHER women after he had become a member of the Patriots.

You are fooling no one and the more you repeat the falsehood, the lower your credibility falls (as if it could fall lower).

Fair enough. It's a deal, Kontra! (And by the way, it doesn't mean I wouldn't READ the board).

Generally, I like to say "In Bill We Trust," but we're 9-1. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Wait...

Without Sanu and Dorsett tomorrow, I cannot see them putting up much offense tomorrow. Next week, the board will be on fire with more AB posts. Thank God Belichick couldn't shiv a git and is working to win the war, not just every battle (he even teases that regarding 2007 in the Saban/BB documentary that comes out in a couple of weeks). The war is more important than the battle.

According to reports, this isn't a BB thing. It's a Kraft thing. Mr. "How about a bit of a knob polishing, Mrs. Wu?" has a moral objection.

Yeah your staying here...we're not letting you go that easy.

6 rings since Feb. 2002. Appeared in 1/2 the Super Bowls played in that time. Won in 1/3 of them.

They know what they're doing (and believe it or not, probably know more about the situation at hand than we do.)

Here's a mind-bender: Since in the information environment we know the least (as fans) when the categories are AB, the Pats, and Fans... isn't it possible we'd be the ones that players leverage to try to get what they want? (or in NE, more accurately, try to leverage?)

This thread has actually turned into a pretty good in depth-discussion.....your vapid, emo-posting aside.

My post was an appropriate information response to yours, albeit with some snark about the owner. As for the emo crack, you've been bleeding all over this thread with nothing but that sort of garbage for most of it.

Antonio Brown ever play quarterback?

Give it up Pal. He got in the face of a GM and threatened him calling him a racial slur. He threw furniture out of a hotel room almost hitting a little kid. Reckless driving. Filming his team after a big win on FB live. Pushed the mother of his children to the ground. Screwed over a chef and artist. Threatened that artist on a group text after approaches her in a towel while she is painting. And you somehow think you know FACTUALLY that it is a frivolous lawsuit. Sounds like something he would do. So yes the standard is not being a complete AHole and pervert and that is excluding the so called frivolous lawsuit
I can sincerely appreciate that you want a certain caliber of player here that has character. I think ideally every organization should strive for this. And I think for the most part the pats have had some of the best high character players in the game. But I wonder what you think of the fact that we have a reputation for cheating.. which is complete bs but in fairness we do push the envelope here and there and bb loves to give the middle finger to the league. And also that we were the only team in the history of football to draft, give a contract extension to, and start a serial killer.

“Yeah, then I told Bill ‘we’ve got to cut him.’ Can’t have guys who treat women like that around here...”

“...now grip it and rip it, Chan.”

“It’s Chen.”

“Whatever. I don’t have to tip you people, do I?”

The cheating stuff is BS in my mind. The balls were not touched. BB gave the finger to a gamesmanship ploy that all teams were doing but told to stop. He was called a Schmuck by Kraft for being thick headed. All the other stuff is Jealousy and I pay no attention to it. They did not know what Hernandez was doing or they obviously would have let him go long before. He was not a distraction before his second life was exposed after the deaths.

This is different. AB is a problem child that has a history mistreating women and showing selfishness and no disregard to people he deals with. He puts himself above the team on a consistent basis. And he does this all publicly.
Moss and Dillion biggest complaint was they started acting up because they were tired of losing on the teams that controlled them. This is not the case with AB. He is just a punk and I personally hope he falls off a cliff.

I think bb does have a habit of bringing guys with higher talent than character sometimes. Obviously haynesworth and ab would probably be the most extreme examples. And Hernandez was a first round talent that was off half the leagues boards when we drafted him in the 4th. So I think as a coach he tries to build a team with character guys and takes risk every once in a while with “troubled” guys. Point is everyone kind of has a different line with what baggage they are willing to put up with. You hate ab. I don’t particularly care for him. I think this particular situation he deserves due process like we all do, but I have no problem admitting he might have done everything he was accused off but I prefer to have it play out in court before he was judged. So that’s my line. Some on this board want him on the team, that’s there’s. That’s why I like having conversations with people like you who have a different opinion on some things than me.

Thanks for being a gentleman about it. We can always learn from each other. There is some extremely smart posters on this board. Some of them do it in a combative way. I can do without that but I learn from them also. You are probably right about AB being cleared on some of his problems. My problem with him is is selfishness. That destroys teams. He started trouble with Ben and JuJu because he lost his Captainship. Filmed the team’s victory speech which became bulletin board material for the Patriots. He Tore that team apart. Thanks for the chat

Football-wise, the women issue is irrelevant (not saying it is irrelevant in the greater societal sphere - - I just don't think for the NFL and the Patriots it should be relevant - - that's why we have a court system).

What completely disqualified AB in my mind was his treatment of the Steelers organization on several occasions, but moreover the treatment of the Raiders, particularly Gruden and Mayock this year. That was completely not ok for any player to pull those stunts and do what he did to them. To me, he quit the NFL the moment he pulled that ****. Are there going to be divas in the future who basically hold their breath and threatened GM's whenever they all of a sudden decide they don't like the shopping malls in their location?

So I was against this guy before the Pats picked him up. I couldn't care less about the lawsuit and the articles when they came out. Everyone is innocent until proven guilty and he deserved his day in court regarding that. The moment AS A PATRIOT he group-texted that artist was the moment he was out, and Patriots-wise, rightfully so. Not for anything else, but for what he pulled AFTER he became a Patriot.

Everyone here arguing on his behalf regarding the lawsuit, etc. is "strawmanning" away the actual reason the Pats cut him. It wasn't for the allegations. It was for the actual action of group texting a few days after the Miami game.

Totally agree with you. I mentioned in a comment earlier something in the same regards. I did not like him before he came here because of him being a total punk. After we got him I thought well we can run with this as long as he keeps his nose clean. Although all his other problems was the reason I did not want him in the 1st place I figured that was not on our watch. One screw up and bye bye. Obviously that didn’t take long. Then he goes on a Twitter rant and calls out the Owner in a nasty way. We all have our opinions but some of these posters really believe he has a chance of coming back. All the power to them but it is really going to suck for them when we also have to let them know that there is No Santa

Wait...

We were 10-0 in 2015, had a ton of injuries, were similarly complacent relying on our 10-0 start, and lost 4 of last 6 and finished 12-4 and lost HFA and that HFA ended up being decisive.

So please spare the sarcasm. Things can unravel fast if we’re complacent.

Non-existent passing game. Non-existent running game. Limping into the playoffs. where have I seen this movie before?

.....and over the past 11 months, no one knows how to unravel from teams better than Antonio Brown!

Headcases need not apply.
