Yeah, there have been way uglier losses between 2001 and 2018. I'm not quite ready to blow everything up and toss Maye out the back door. I'll panic when I see the full picture at the end of the year
Absolutely correct. Even as the offense sputtered in the 2nd half we still had opportunities to win the game. So I'm still encouraged. Campbell and Wilson they look like they are going to be solid pros.. the penalties are rookie mistakes but they fared well. We probably look to run behind them more going forward.

Even if it is a loss, I want them to go out punching and it be a nailbiter, I wanna see Maye take charge of his throwing and march his offense down confidently. It doesn't have to be a win, but it also can't be a "come out extremely flat in the second quarter, fail to play all 60 minutes at an NFL level" type ****.

Punish teams for ever taking us as an easy win. Pulverize. If Miami walks out with a win, make them ask "wait was that even worth it?"
I'd like to see something similar to JJ McCarthy's 4Q performance last night. Pick up the team, put it on your shoulders, and make **** happen.

Run the ****ing ball, keep the fish defense honest. Yesterday mcdaniels ran 18 times and threw 46. i think he believes he still has Tom F in Brady as his qb, not a kid that has play a total of 14 games in the nfl

Lol watch the bleeping game rather than creating fiction. They tried to run the ball, but couldn't. Rham had 7 carried for 15 yards. That is an average of 2.1 per carry. Henderson was better with 5 for 27. That is 5.4 yards per carry, but his long was 14. So 4 for 13 is 3.25. They tried a Pop and run for 4 yards and a Gibson run for 3. THEY COULD NOT RUN THE BALL.

Ya with Justin Jefferson, the top WR in the league. He scored the first TD last night in the 4th. He had a quiet night, but he draws so much attention its ridiculous. I promise you if you give Jefferson to Drake, he can go 13/20 for 143 yards and 1 pick too. I am not taking anything away from Mcarthy. The dude overcame, but you have to compare apples to apples. That Viking roster is stacked.

As long as our WRs get some separation they don't have to be JJ to get those pedestrian numbers. As I noted, it wasn't about the game numbers it was the 4Q make **** happen to win. Be the guy.

3.25 avg is more than enough to keep going with it. If you average between 3-4 yards, then you keep running those plays... Even 2 yards is 20% of the down, more than incompletions and the risks of forcing throws. At the end of the day, you don't abandon, you find a way to make it work. Abandoning is really only an option for... Burrow, Mahomes, Allen...?

Jordan Mason ran 6 times for 15 yards in the first three quarters against the Bears. Then 9 times for 56 in the 4th. You don't abandon the run. Jones had 8 attempts for 23 yards, 2.9 avg.

Somethings not right with Hill. Don’t want to jinx anything by saying he’s washed, but he’s been in a funk for a while.

Waddle, Hill and Tua are all in the back 9 of their careers.
Waddle is in his 5th year, that is not “back 9” for a WR.

12 carries for 42 yards in the first half is not can’t run the ball.

Henderson and Stevenson carrying a COMBINED ZERO times in the second half is refuse to run the ball.
They took any worry of a run away from the defense so interacted by taking away the intermediate routes that worked when Maye was 14/20/150 in the first half.

14/20/150 with 12/42
leads to
16/26/139 when you run zero times for zero yards.

Looking at some OL blocking cut-ups, I saw Henry & Westover just really miss on some important blocks.
Henry did not look interested in really attacking on blocks, and Westover just picks the already-engaged DL to double instead of hitting the unblocked defender. That needs to get fixed QUICK!
I was saying all offseason - since March - that we need a legit blocking/catching TE to be ready behind Henry. Hooper & Westover are not it.

This is a whole new team, so with the bad, should come one positive - - they don't have a built-in voodoo fear of playing like sh*t just because it's a place called Miami.
But, we absolutely have to avoid the horrendous starts. NO first drive TD's allowed on D.
And, NO first drive 3 & Out on O.

I actually saw Henry put someone on the ground Sunday, I was shocked, and it was on the right side around the LOS.

They still need to try to keep the defense guessing

I'm expecting another loss i don't care how bad the Dolphins looked in Indy, the Patriots always **** the bed in Miami make that lefty Mac Jones look competent.

The amount of blitzes not getting home on 3rd and long and big plays given up last week i can see the Dolphins getting a couple of big plays that the Patriots wont and that being enough to win the game.

Man that Rham contract was a really bad idea....
They all were. Most posters here praised it for some weird reason. In fact, there were some very uncharacteristic behavior from posters who were trashing the team, but yet so excited they were signing these players. I said it then, but it they were clearly trolling Team Bill.

Dude, they tried and were running to a brick wall. It was not working. McDaniels has never had a traditional run game. They use little dumps and screens as part of the run game. You have to include those. Henderson had 6, Rham had 2, and Pop had 2. It just didn't work. There was no film to prep for a new team like the Raiders.

No, it wasn't. Watch the freaking game.
