That he got twice the $ as a backup than starters are getting today? Winston isn't a bridge QB, imo. Saints are going to try to fix him & make him their starter.

Yeah, we're not operating under the same base reality it seems. Brissett, at the time of that signing, was considered a starter and potential franchise QB. Winston is getting a 1 year tryout, Newton style. Also, what do you think a bridge QB is? A bridge QB is a starter, just not one the team is absolutely sure they want to build around yet.

I’m happy with Harris/Michel.

But another RB is needed if White’s not resigned.

They seem high on JJ which is why, I believe, they are comfortable with White leaving. The reports of going after big name TB's is a bit surprising given how Harris and Michel ran last year. Doesn't stand out as an area of need. Especially with Bolden coming back and probably able to re-sign Rex on the cheap.

But a clock killing Cory Dillon type of season from Fournette or someone of the like is very appealing to me.

I'm not either, but this addresses a pass catcher that can block at a reasonable price. He obviously doesn't want to pay the 15+ per for the top shelf WR.
