Bad Decision
Boomer Esiason has normally been respectful of Brady, but made some poor decisions with his comments last week about the Patriots QB.

    Its a balance for sure.

For example, in June of 2018 Kyed had in his winners for minicamp were...

Damarius Travis-Clearly better in coverage than Richards (who isn't)
Duke Dawson-clearly has talent, very sticky
JC Jackson-knocking down everything thrown his way
    Gilly- Looked much more comfortable

    Losers
Jason McCourty- Didn't participate in drills. Was on lower field (I assume he had surgery)
Keion Crossen-Was great in OTAs but ws limited in mini camp. Kyed said Jackson was clearly ahead of him anyway
Rowe-Coaches has Jackson ahead of Rowe. Now we know why. It was just a matter of time.

So if we go by last year, Kyed did a decent job of eyeballing who was good and told us who "lost" but with the caveat they did not play.

This year "newcomers" Dawson, Collins, LaCosse, Harris did well.

Interesting how he has adjusted his original expectation of Jamie and is now saying he thinks he'll have a much larger role than he anticipated.

    Nothing but good news IMO.

Lets hope he isn't throwing to Edelman and Chicken Salad again this year.

I agree with him that the thing we're going to miss about Gronk is his outstanding blocking. That extra dimension is now gone, and our blocking is going to be more predictable, and more easily countered.

Some of these guys aren’t just making click bait. They spend long hours following the team around even during OTA’s and Mini’s and tell us what they see...and sometimes it’s accurate.

Not a good vibe with loser JMAC this time last year. It felt like things were not working out for him early on. He turned that around.

Gronk could catch and block with the best of them...he will be missed.

According to my "fluttering" pass index combined with my "Athletic Processing" curve Brady has declined at a rate beyond the expected Stat/Eye test ratio.

He’s not a homer and is very honest in his opinion of the team, but his honesty does not amount to trolling like Shaunnessy or Volin.

    Winner at Seahawks camp:

Seahawks OC Brian Schottenheimer said TE Jacob Hollister has been a "Terrific acquisition, he has had a great camp." The Seahawks sent a 2020 seventh-round pick to the Patriots to acquire Hollister, an athletic, pass-catching tight end. "He has a great feel for coverages, man and zone, things like that." Schottenheimer said. “The speed element is awesome, really good route-runner. A lot like Tyler in terms of the instincts, just the ability to get open. He has a great feel for coverages, man and zone, things like that… He has been a great acquisition, he really has.”

He sounds like the next Kelce to hear Schotiemhiemer tell it.

Since when did he become a wiz bang judge of talent?

Just thought I'd toss out a bit of a "What if?" sort of post.

Picture the Patriots carrying 6 WRs this season:

    Edelman (32)
    Harry (22)
    Dorsett (26)
    Harris (27)
    Gordon (27)
    Thomas (32)

The number after the name is the age the player would be after the NFL playoffs end.

So at this point Thuney is in line to get a $16m/yr contract next year...

As a reliable left guard his contact might be somewhere between $9-$10M per year?? But as you point out, Trent Brown had a solid but far from stellar year at LT and walked away with $66M over 4 years. If Thuney can play solidly at LT early in the season I agree his price will probably be going up beyond the Patriots price range (especially with what we all hope is a future LT in house once he completely heals in Wynn).
