Gaffney looked like the best RB out thee today, Saturday I thought it was Brown. Both of them just seem to have really good feet when they are running thru the trash.

Dobsun looks like a number one receiver. Mitchel looked fast.

Bennett moves like a 220 lb wr. When Gronk runs he runs like a bull, Bennett runs like a race horse.

Coleman is not having a good first week.

I can't pick up anything from watching the big uglies. It is just a mash of 10 bodies in a 3 foot by 12 foot box. I have been going to camp for 40 years and I never could make heads or tails out of line play. Cannon however looks in better shape, he must be down to 320 or so.

Ashley, I think with Scar back into the fold, the concerns we have with the line, while they will exist, they'll sort out before the season is through. As Pat Kirwan says, he makes a big difference in being part of a constant thread of success with this team. A guy like that is easier to listen to as a young player.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed AD!!!!!

We got a Gronk, no doubt. But we also got a whatever this is:

A black unicorn

This is a good podcast and worth listening to. But I can't help but think that ALL the work that Howe keeps saying he did to come up with his conclusions, (which I agree with, btw) could have been mitigated if he simply had clicked on Miguel's cap page and followed him on social media.

So in other words, "Nice work Jeff, but those of us at Patsfans.com came to the same conclusions a few months ago because we HAVE followed Miguel. And you can save a lot time if you do the same."

LOL. Jeff is one of the very few beat writers who does not follow me on Twitter. His loss.

The Malcolm Mitchell reports are interesting to me. Sounds like a great back shoulder candidate, no?
And Brady likes that route and throws the pass well, so would be great to have someone who would take the receptions that LaFell did.

On Dobson, he's just got to do it. It gets a little tiring to see the excuses, whether justified or not, for him up to this point. At the end of the day it really just doesn't matter, he's got to produce to stay.

I'm glad the TEs are going strong -- especially since the putative top 3 WRs are hurt, as is the top pass-catching RB.

Thanks! Good to hear about the running backs. The team really needs a power runner to back up/replace LGB and, sadly, Bolden is not the answer.

I really don't like the current burying of my binkie Darryl Roberts. I haven't seen any reports of him getting beat so I don't get why they're burying him on the depth chart when he is the most physically gifted CB on the roster and he showed last TC he's very talented when given the chance.

In some ways this is actually good. It means he's doing his job. For example, as a offensive lineman, you do not want your name heard during a game, because if you did, it meant you screwed up royally.

This is the first that I've heard about any struggles with CB Justin Coleman, who is currently leading the team in broken up passes (according to Daniels).
Hey Supa. I do appreciate the posters who have been to practice and care enough to come here and post what they've seen . . . just what happened though. When they start posting opinions, however, I'm finding that they're conflicting a lot with what guys like Reiss and 'em are putting up. So it's like who do you believe? On some level it's subjective. On the other, however, you begin to truly see the guys having a good camp vs. the guys who aren't, and I think the opinions start to get blurry because a guy may think one of "his guys" is having a good camp simply because that's what he wants to believe for that player. I feel they're a bit more objective when giving their opinions of who is doing well vs. who is doing not so well. They also go to more practices, which I think also gives them more of a feel for how camp is going for each player. A player can have a terrible Monday and be great the rest of the week. If one only attended the Monday practice, then he'll walk away saying that player is having a bad camp (which would not be true obviously).

An example would be a poster who told me Roberts is having a great camp. This was after I questioned why I hadn't been hearing anything about him. He's my second binky behind Andrews. Then on the same day a report comes out and says Jones is actually having a much better camp and Roberts is more-or-less a bit of a rollercoaster right now. Again, who's right? Is there a right or wrong? So, I'll just have to wait for the preseason games to start so that I can attempt to start forming my own analysis from afar. And I want to say again to those who are going and posting, please continue! I truly do appreciate the work you all put in and hope that my post does not give off a different impression in any way, shape or form.

Man, what happened to LaFell last season? It's like the guy forgot how to play in our offense. The timing was just never there. It took us so long to find someone who could play the role he played so well in 2014. Remember Brandon Lloyd? Ugh. Now, the search has commenced once again for that player. By all accounts it appears Mitchell could be that guy. One can only hope. Speed and quickness are all well and good, but LaFell brought a physicality to the position that I don't know if we had since David Givens. That guy used to shrug corners off him at the line better than just about anyone I've seen recently and he could break tackles. He wasn't elusive. He ran through guys. I guess his RB days in college had something to do with that. We missed that last season. Can Mitchell provide that? I sure hope so.

I think the person you're replying to meant on the depth chart.

Well, with a million caveats about how early it is, it does seem like Mitchell is taking to things in a quicker, much more intuitive way than either Dobson or LaFell did. He has the feeling of the kind of guy who could contribute a bit this year then really be a part of things in year 2. Fingers crossed.

You can say that again brother knowing how lacking we have been at the position for years of course it's not because of a lack of trying. And just as we praise him Mitchell is not at practice Today...hope its just a day off for all his hard work. Or we might have to carry 6 WR's this year on our roster.

Wonder if DJ Foster can compete for that job? He spent a lot of time at WR as well as RB in college iirc.

Oh absolutely. I'm always cautious this early. But I sure am hoping. That physical presence on the outside is actually what I want more than a deep threat guy. Of course you ideally want a guy to be both. But I'm choosing physicality almost every time, especially since THE GOAT is not necessarily hitting those homers at a high clip these days. LaFell was tough, caught it well enough in traffic (2014) and seldom went down on first contact. And he EXCELLED blocking down field. We at least still got that from him last season. I'm hoping Mitchell can be that guy at some point. We'll see. I'm hearing reports he didn't practice today. I wonder what's up there.
