If they beat CLE or we lose to BUF then they do not need to play LJ vs Pitt.

If he does sit then Ingram will most likely also sit. Pitt has a good run D as well.

It'll be tight.

It's a tough one for them I would think. If steelers need the win to get in I can't imagine they wouldn't keep ingram in. Will be interesting.

I’ve had this nagging feeling for the last month or so that, while things are bad, they could much worse considering Edelman’s age and seems like injuries are piling up for him.

Then they also lost out on the bidding for Jared Cook, who is now like option #5 in the Saints all-pro offense but is probably better than anyone on the Patriots. Heck, I see Amendola putting up some big games.

I can see why Brady would consider moving on if he wants to continue his career. You look at the weapons that Brees has. You look at what Manning always had. It’s gotta be frustrating to be his age and seeing what he has to work with. They’ve known for 3-4 years that Edelman and Gronkowski would likely be retiring around this time. This offense might need something close to a full rebuild. Edelman is way past the WR expiration date; White is approaching the RB expiration date. Sanu, a couple of possibly decent rookies, and an offensive line with serious question marks, is what they currently have for 2020. Someone referenced a “change in approach” for what it would take for Brady to return. I think he would need to see some huge signings/trades. You could see in 2018 that the offense had some very serious issues, and the team struck out in the offseason. He must be pissed. He cares only about winning, so I don’t think he cares about his legacy, etc. if he left NE.

I guess that during those 3-4 years they also expected Brady to not be here and it would be a complete overhaul by now. An unintended consequence.

—2nd Sanu
—big money free agent (Brown)

And also went out and make offers to:

—TE Cook
—WR Humphries

Unfortunately, they aren’t getting many breaks at the skill positions lately.

No one was open and it looked like the protection was about to fail - in 90% of similar situations (esp near the goal line) Brady hurried himself, made a bad throw or threw it away. BUT...vs Cincinatti - Brady seemed, to me anyway, to give the play just that extra nano second....and he made a great throw to Harry...

You are suggesting that Brady somehow stifled his alleged recent tendency to bail or hurry a bad throw on the play and that's why it worked. Further, you're claiming you could see -- on your television -- that protection was crumbling and Brady toughed it out for an "extra nanosecond" to complete the scoring pass. Nonsense. The play worked because it was there: protection held up (Brady had ample time in the pocket), Harry beat his man on the route and Brady made a good throw -- not because Brady somehow uncharacteristically "did what he has not been doing." Hint: it takes more than one player to make plays succeed. We know you hate Brady ca. 2019 but stop reaching into your grab bag of cherry pickings to try arguing why. You don't know enough about this team or football in general to offer anything even remotely approaching a reasonable argument that Brady is mostly responsible for the stagnating offense. Try wrapping your head around this: injured throwing elbow, no tight end threat, unreliable WRs (inexperience and injuries), no fullback and struggling OL (missing players and ongoing injuries).

And seriously, Brady has not been good vs McDeromott's Buffalo club - that's not even up for debate...

Yeah, because "McDermott's Buffalo club" beats the Patriots so often. Those must be "bad wins" because the Bills are a division opponent with a good defense that challenges Brady. Got it. It's obvious you want Brady to fail this week so you can dish more negativity at him and the team. What on earth would you do if he lights it up and the Pats win big? Hide in a corner and sulk?

Um, did I say that? No...McDermotts D has had far more success vs the quarterback, i.e., making him look terrible 4/5 games than have the other afc east teams/coaches. Whistle through the graveyard all you want, But Brady has been poor vs McDermott - do you think Brady has played well? I think he's been at, near, or under 50% completions in 3/5 games and underwater TD/int. So, does that constitute good QB play?

I think Brady may actually look and be worse vs McDermott than he was vs the old Miami D w Surtain, Madison, Thomas, Taylor etc...

Who gives a rat's ass about McDermott's defense "giving Brady trouble" when he has yet to beat the Patriots? LOTS of defenses have given Brady "trouble" through the years, that's to be expected in the very competitive NFL. What I've been trying to impress upon you apparently to no avail is the FACT that Brady does not play in a vacuum -- there are 10 other guys that figure mightily into things like completion percentage, interceptions, touchdowns, etc. It's a TEAM game and Brady's supporting cast is subpar for various reasons compared to recent years. Stop myopically focusing on Brady and consider what he's working with/forced to compensate for around him.
