Throwing it away/in the dirt > TO's. If you've watched him this is his M.O. Along w knowing when to call a play dead & live to fight another down.

He's not having a good year. Might be his worst ever but ignoring everything else is just having an agenda imo. Not far off from Rusty/RidingwiththeKing/Chris S/PDx2.

I love the minority opinion(s). Questioning why/authority just think you go a little far w Brady as I might on other subjects. I'm far from perfect.
I agree, he's not having a great year and it's clear he's frustrated, even though he's done a pretty good job - with the exception of that one week - of keeping that somewhat in check. However, I do feel like there are times where he does let frustration get the best of him and that leads to him throwing to spots where a receiver isn't just to prove a point vs maybe taking one more second and throwing to the flat to another player, or heaving it down the field hoping for a miracle PI call.

I don't know...again, it's hard for me to necessarily criticize that because I'm not a guy playing in front of millions of fans with incredible expectations. But it's been a perfect storm when it comes to personnel this year where it's just a little crazy when you consider everything that's gone wrong. I mean, they lost their starting fullback, who has been key to their ground game, the guy they replaced him with (who was fairly decent), the AB fiasco, Gordon (who probably still wouldn't have worked out anyway), all the O-line injuries and now Edelman, etc. It's been unbelievable. They haven't been able to catch a break.

So I think a combination of all these things are certainly contributing to it. But if they can get a bye and have time for some guys to get healthy, if they only have to win 2 games to get to Miami, I wouldn't write them off.

The #1 problem this year hasn't been Brady, it's been the offensive line, which has been probably the worst we've seen performance-wise in quite a few seasons. Injuries and Gronk's retirement have played a key role, but everything obviously revolves around them and that accounts for a significant percentage of the issues.

I have thought early and often about how different things might have been if the Pats had re-signed Trent Brown and moved Wynn to RT or RG. I don't have the numbers for what Oakland signed him for vs what the Pats had for cap space but I feel that Brown's absence left as large a hole on the OL as Gronk's.

Fair enough, but there've been plenty of give up - imho - throw aways. And r.e. the offensive line...the td to Harry vs Cin, was a PERFECT example of what Brady has not been doing. No one was open and it looked like the protection was about to fail - in 90% of similar situations (esp near the goal line) Brady hurried himself, made a bad throw or threw it away. BUT...vs Cincinatti - Brady seemed, to me anyway, to give the play just that extra nano second....and he made a great throw to Harry...
And seriously, Brady has not been good vs McDeromott's Buffalo club - that's not even up for debate...

I do agree with this, as it's probably the first time in a while against pressure that he's stood in a little longer to deliver the football. That could be because he might have been previously banged up and could have been feeling better and was less tentative about getting hit. Who knows

Oakland paid him a fortune, so that was -unfortunately - just a matter of bad timing. Would have been nice if he had another year on his deal. But you're right, that position has been an issue. I like Wynn but he's another player that would have benefited from being out there earlier in the season had he not been hurt, although he's been a difference-maker to this point since coming back.

If J Jones is out that will suck bigly...esp is J McCourty is out...

Might be time for Joejuan's reps to increase in that case. Not the best game for a rookie to step in (in regards to importance), but not the worst offense for him to be facing either. It would be nice to have an idea what the kid can do if called upon down the road this season.

He should've retired on top, but - and this is my opinion - he had a "brand" to uphold, push, sell, etc., so he stuck around.

This is like that Honus Wagner baseball card of bad takes. Every Brady fan is somewhere i
on the spectrum of disbelief/frustration/sadness/optimism right now. But I don’t think anyone else has a ridiculous take quite like this one.

He signed the largest deal for an OL in history. Definitely got the "Patriot bump". Couldn't imagine BB ever paying that much.

Just a reminder since everyone seems to forget this until the Bills games are in progress: Sean McDermott is (a) a really good coach, and (b) a massively annoying, whining d-bag.

I respect the job hes done but my god does he whine.

And he was just placed on IR for the second time in three seasons.

Hat & T-Shirt Day Saturday, and it's been a little while since we had a clincher vs. the Bills, though they are in our history.

A record in no rush to be broken

To put all of this in its proper context, think of it this way: Over the course of the regular season, the 1978 Patriots averaged 41.9 carries and 197.8 yards rushing per game.

Far more often (11 times) than not (five times), the ’78 Patriots exceeded 200 yards rushing in a regular-season game, peaking with 279 in a 14-10 win at Buffalo on Nov. 5.

It was the rematch with the Bills that year, a 26-24 win in Foxboro on Dec. 10 that clinched the Patriots the AFC East division title, that Hannah reflects on most fondly, however.

“That old locker room we had there (at Schaefer Stadium) wasn’t worth much. There was some outdoor furniture in there and we were sitting in it and after every game we’d kind of sit there and rest before we took a shower or whatever,” said Hannah. “If we had done a good job, Ringo would come in and talk with us. If we hadn’t done a good job, he wouldn’t show up. That was his way of showing he didn’t like it.

“He came in after that Buffalo game when we broke the record and won the championship, put his feet up on the table, lit up a Winston, poured a glass of Johnnie Walker, looked at us and said, ‘Well, boys, we’re the best there was.’ It was an unbelievable feeling.”

The 1978 Patriots’ rushing game has been the NFL’s best for 35 years now.

“They say that all records are made to be broken,” said Cunningham, “but some last a long time before they are.”

--

That was our last win before Leon Gray was sadly and stupidly traded to Houston.

Upon hearing the news, John Hannah said, "We just traded away our Super Bowl."[10] Ron Erhardt, who had replaced Chuck Fairbanks as the team's head coach, also admitted that he was against the trade.

I believe he set the NFL record for highest paid OL ever. So yes, it would've been a cap problem.

.

I think the Ratbirds might have a shot at that record of 3165 yards. They are at 2830 with 2 games to go, need to average 166

If they beat CLE or we lose to BUF then they do not need to play LJ vs Pitt.

If he does sit then Ingram will most likely also sit. Pitt has a good run D as well.

It'll be tight.
