DRAFT DAY DISCUSSION 2026 NFL Draft: Day 1

We've not picked a backup RT in the first round, either Campbell is moving to G or Moses is gone.

Teams don't take development players in the first round especially with a trade up.
Swing tackle this year, probably be short yardage TE too then replace Moses next year.
Same thing we did with solder

Don’t love the leftover tackle and hate trading up to get him. But…this regime has been pretty solid in the draft so we’ll see

Isn't he the guy that only plays LT?
Doesn't really matter. He's a guy with solid measurables but will probably need a bit of development time. Not a horrible pick because if it works out we have a good pass protector that could make the line more of a wall.

Was it worth the trade up? Idk but this was about as good as we could probably hope for at this spot and it's not like this draft is deep enough to really covet picks right now

I think they saw LB ....could be filled in the next few rounds ...I hope they get a good te

Why not moving up for max then? This screams desperation.
So much for the violence talk.

Not a bad pick. Probably thought the Chiefs were looking at him.

Sounds a bit raw though….
Good news is we shouldn’t need him this year, he’ll be needed when Moses retires next year unless injury happens. So gets a year to learn. Happy with this, just hope they picked the right guy.

Lomu actually looks like a tackle, you look at Will Campbell and he doesn't look like any left tackle i have ever seen when he's standing next to Drake Maye they look the same size.

Worst pick possible! Okay maybe Meh. Undersized, not strong. Panicked pick.
I was concerned when the pats left FA with no tackle back ups. Always wanted a tackle but definitely feels like a panic move.
They did the same thing a little with campbell cause that had to be the pick last year.
They moving campbell eventually. Read lomu is a "natural" LT which sounds like he has a hard time on the right

Just the vibe I'm getting from you lol.

Personally think it's the right move

One of my concerns is that they said he doesn’t play with a lot of meanness… And that once he gets New England, they’ll have to coach that up… I don’t think you can coach aggressiveness… But at least he’s offensive line and has shown a lot of athleticism…

That's a cool idea but the LT got absolutely ran thru by every elite pass rusher he faced.

We'll see how he holds up against a harder schedule.

We only gave up pick #125 to move up. A fourth is a reasonable price.
