Idiotic pick by the Rams. Another team falling into "playing for the future" trap. Rams are on the brink of going to the Super Bowl and do something stupid like this.

Cowboys overpaid Dolphins to move up one spot from #12 to #11. They were guaranteed of having either Rueben Bain Jr. or Caleb Downs fall to them or possibly both but gave up #177 and #180 to move up one spot. I give the Cowboys an F on this trade. Safety is one of the deepest positions in this draft and their will likely be decent safeties available even at 177 and 180. It would have made much more sense for them to pick Bain Jr. instead.

Thats a significant win for the Dolphins. They are loaded in draft capital this season and just got even richer. If they pick well, they can transform their roster in this draft. Having said that, I don't like the pick of Proctor at #12. Monroe Freeling is the better prospect in my opinion. I wonder if they tried to trade down further.

Rams picked up Ty Simpson and screwed the Jets and Cardinals who were both probably hoping to get him later in the first. I was expecting the Patriots to trade down from #31 to #34 so the Cardinals could leapfrog the Jets and take Simpson there. Feel like the Rams should have tried to trade down before making this pick but maybe there was nobody looking to move up. At the end of the day, they get their QB of the future and its a major win for Simpson to be able to learn from McVeigh while backup up Stafford for a year or two. Solid move.
