Why isn't Efton Chism III playing?

The WRs on this team stink. The TE leads the team in receptions and yards. No WR is getting 50 yards/game. Boutte is the only WR averaging over 10 ypc. Weakest position on the team except maybe LB.

Hopefully Diggs improves as he gets further from injury. We can try playing Chism and Williams more. Beside those two things the Pats are stuck with what they got until the offseason.
Even though I hated that boney scrub: Thornton is looking like a player with Mahomes go figure. Couldn't catch here but can there. IF we can Trade for a legit #2 WR we should: Diggs doesn't look like the same: pedestrian numbers is not what we need @ WR. We are not a difficult Offense to defend.

Because they're not good enough to be a playoff team. They don't have the players.
They had 4 wins last year, and three were ******** luck, this was the worst roster in football 2 years running. They got some pieces. There's still gaping holes that aren't going to be fixed this season. It is what it is.
Fair enough. I'm not going to argue about that. I'm just of the mind of wanting to see what this team can be come November. If they look like a team that's getting better and keeping themselves in the conversation then who knows..

Twin... this team is 3-19 last few seasons at home.. embarrassing... that mayo buffalo joke game last season doesn't even count. Pop is a much better player than what he shown.. he's a player that we all felt McDaniels could unlock him.. we were all fooled. At this point chism and Williams should be given more opportunities..
We shouldn't be evaluating Douglas in year Three: he's playing a Offense that's suits his skill set. Our TE's are getting the job done: and Our RB's also Fumble Rham is a better receiver than Pop Douglas embarrassing

Never got the Pop love on tape the last few years, he is solid vs man, terrible vs zone and no catch radius. JAG.

Chism was the most productive WR in training camp. Chism was the most productive receiver in pre-season. Whatever happened to I don't care where someone was drafted, the best players play?

He's not playing because he is an UDFA and they have veterans playing and coaches love veterans.

The coaching mistake was not putting Chism with the first team in training camp after he dominated the 2nd and 3rd teams to see how he did.
Now you have to guess whether he can do similar things vs number 1 corners.

I went and watched all 37 pre-season pass plays for Chism. He had reasonable separation on 33 of the plays. He had 2 plays at the goal line where he just went straight and turned around right at the goal line and 2 plays he went deep down middle just to clear out safeties and was covered. All 4 of those plays he was more a decoy. There was 1 screen he was not the target. The 32 other plays he was open enough if you targeted him, he had a chance for a catch. I think he had 12 catches on 14 targets.

I get the frustration, but I honestly think part of it is still evaluation and seeing what he has. If this really were a playoff team, you'd see quicker hooks. I mean, they gave Christian Elliss 2 and a half games to prove he's not an NFL player and got yanked today. Austin also got yanked today. They put in Tonga in the 2nd quarter for a lot more snaps than he's been getting and Pittsburgh couldn't run anymore.

He's handling it like a rebuild, and he *should* be.

It's not his fault there's a large portion of fans who got high on their own supply in the offseason and thought this was a playoff team.
I have said all along that I do not expect a very impressive number of wins this year and that I really don't care about that. I called out predictions of playoffs and double-digit wins as premature to the point of being silly. All I am looking for is progress this year, and there has indeed been significant progress. If that is to continue, Vrabel has to realize that when progress is key, you have to take risks which might not lead to wins but which will enable you to find out what you have and to develop it. If you want to build a culture, you have to sanction -somehow - those who fail to meet the standards of that new culture. The "players' coach" "I know yu feel bad, son" stuff can only be pushed so far, and, as I said, the Charming ******* shtick will only get you so much forgiveness if the team stalls in its rebuild. To this point, the team has shown overall progress as a team in only one of the three games. That's a flop, by majority decision, so to say, even by my very forgiving standards for the year. This will indeed, as I and most have said, take some time, but at some point, "this will take time" can become an excuse for inaction, and I want to wary of having that happen.

KC offense might be worse than ours and they have 2 guys that are performing that couldn't make it here... Diggs is still not 100%... Henderson needs to be on field with Williams... but no.. Tarzan feet takes his snaps.

I believe we saw last week that Chism needs to better understand a broader scope of the offense. once he does, I believe we start seeing more of him.

Goal line fumble and interception were the 14 point swing that killed us. Both mistakes were breath taking.
Maye threw the ball like it was a ripe tomato. Of course it got tipped and picked.

Gibby had shot to be our #1 RB yesterday and blew it on a careless fumble. I guess it's Henderson from now on. IF we never see Rham for a long long long while it would be too soon disgusting.

I agree.. gibby was an unforced fumble, Drake with the sack fumble, rham had unforced fumbles.. I thought I was watching 3 stooges episode yesterday...

Breath taking?? more like heart stopping.

Drake Maye is getting synonymous with his will breaking Maye specials. Hope it's an aberration and not the norm. Maye is keeping good company with Fumble Rham: they both giveth and taketh away.

We face 3 teams that was just as bad as us and only beat 1...
Vrabel's Coaching will be on display; hope he's doesn't turn into Rudolph the apple nose rain deer. Vrabel needs to shake things up: he has some questionable players at certain positions; who needs to be Benched!

Rham fumbles with no one near him.. I bet he doesn't fumble those Millions when makes a with bank withdrawal with that contract. Drake is trying to much to make a play instead of throwing it away.. Hard to ignore.

He could have given the throw more arc, lobbed it in a bit, as I think he said in his presser. I think he's still adjusting his play, his decision-making, to the remarkable athleticism of every player on an NFL field. Even the big fat guys are agile, and the little guys are a blur, who seem to be able to go from A to C without bothering to pass through B. Quarks in helmets.

The Pat's will be 2 - 2 heading into Buffalo on SNF. At least I hope that they can get by Carolina .

Maybe this is another season where the Pats can't win at Home?

Buffalo starts 3 road games in succession. Buffali, Nola and Tenn.
