Why isn't Efton Chism III playing?

He could have given the throw more arc, lobbed it in a bit, as I think he said in his presser. I think he's still adjusting his play, his decision-making, to the remarkable athleticism of every player on an NFL field. Even the big fat guys are agile, and the little guys are a blur, who seem to be able to go from A to C without bothering to pass through B. Quarks in helmets.

NFL players are so quick and react in seconds. Hopefully, Maye learned valuable lessons yesterday. I'm watching Maye with the ball in the pocket surrounded by Steelers and time ticking away. It was no surprise that he lost the ball.

It was a Terrible throw by Maye: no excuses on that. I hope he feels sick just watching the tape: took a nice play away from Boutte.

We can all have our opinions but the only one that matters right now is Vrabel.

When I watch Chism, I see a dynamic, quick, intelligent receiver who is a route cruiser and catches the ball with consistency and intentions of scoring.

He has the size and speed to be very versatile in this offense and I don't see how much longer Douglas will deserve to keep him on the bench.

Hoping Vrabel sees similarly.

I’m guessing Chism will get some starting snaps in practice this week, if he looks like he can handle it then he will be active on Sunday and get some snaps in the game.

Good question. OBVIOUSLY Chism oughta be given a shot. It's not as if our WR room is chockablock with brilliant alternatives. The coach is better, although he needs to stop being such a ****y when players need to ride the pine for a while. The O-line is better. Drake still looks promising. The secondary still might be good, particularly if Glass Boy can get his soft ass back in the game. The RB room has talent, even if Rhamondre is too stupid to hold onto the ball. It's time to get a DC who can show up for work. And so on.

Get your **** together, Vrabel. The Charming ******* shtick is wearing thin. Be a coach. Play the players.

People overrate the preseason. Remember when Henderson looked like a potential OROY candidate in the preseason? What has he done thus far?

I am not sure Chism is nearly as good as people think he is. He could be. Or just looked like a stud because he was playing against a bunch of guys who are currently pumping gas for a living.

Twin... this team is 3-19 last few seasons at home.. embarrassing... that mayo buffalo joke game last season doesn't even count. Pop is a much better player than what he shown.. he's a player that we all felt McDaniels could unlock him.. we were all fooled. At this point chism and Williams should be given more opportunities..

I am not sure Chism is nearly as good as people think he is. He could be. Or just looked like a stud because he was playing against a bunch of guys who are currently pumping gas for a living.

T Henderson will get better with Playing time and better Blocking. We should have gotten better than Corpse Moses @ RT in FA. Mike Vrabel misjudged some of our Roster: and now it's rearing its ugly head.

I am not saying Henderson is a bust or anything. RBs actually take time to develop in McDaniels offense. Look at James White's first season.

I believe He will get better with the more touches he will get.

And that's not Chism's problem: the problem is we have a Slot Receiver who's not producing. I can't imagine Chism playing any worse than Pop has: the guy's in Polk's territory now putrid.

Either Vrabel is serious about players earning a starting role or he is not. If he were, he wouldn't have put Rhamondre back in and we would already know that Gibson is starting next week, Romo would be our place kicker, Peppers would still be on the team, and so on. This is not an issue yet, I'll assume, but it could become one.

Poop Douglas's value is diminishing weekly.

You're living in the past. We are not going take advantage of an easy schedule if this keeps up.

Douglas is the 6th best WR as far as separation is concerned for 2025 according to NextGen. I know I'm living in the past looking at the last 3 games, but I'm working on just focusing on the last few throws.

What does Vrabel think of him in practice? That should say it all. You would hope he’s playing the players he thinks gives us the best chance to win. If not, that old school veteran mentality of play the veterans will get the coach in a uncomfortable position further on down the road.

Seems like its the latter in this case. You throw him out there and see what he’s got, he can’t be worse than Douglas right now
