Possibly. I would hate for Maye's sake and this class' sake that the first passing TD from this rookie class was from a back up coming in during garbage time and scoring a meaningless TD. I want Maye's first TD to count and be as a starter.

In hindsight it was a good move, if maye had got a touchdown, the clamour to start maye would be too high and he could be injured with a season ending injury by halftime of game 4. Now we can take it a bit slow and bring after week 8. Just look at Bryce young and we cannot do the same crap. We have crappy line, crappy coaching and average receivers. Hardly a recipe for success.

On a side note , ladd mcconkey was tearing up today for chargers .
