There were many, many players better than the ones we have available in free agency. We are a 4 win team that got worse, the bar isn’t very high.I'm speaking specifically on OT. I believe there are limited resources, especially when it comes to LT. Good players do not make it to FA. I don't believe they missed out on any LT who helps. They missed out on a LT on the draft, there was a run and they were not able to get back in and draft a R1 LT. They instead opted for filling the WR room in a deep WR draft. If they traded assets, either they would not have Polk and Baker or they would have given up a high pick in 2025.
Then Mayo should demand that he button it up. Pretty much high school stuff.I like Scott Peters and honestly he has refined alot of their techniques. Last night the actual run and pass blocking was not horrible. The illegal formations were alot and that was unacceptable. Once the ref calls the penalty on the player that player should be able to line themselves up.
I agree, Mayo said that he needs to be harder on players for the same mistake over and over. I am paraphrasing because I don't want to look up the quote. Then Mayo should demand that he button it up. Pretty much high school stuff.
certainly better than our 8th or 9th bestHow many other teams have a 10th best OL better than our 5th best? Gotta be a few.
Our 5th isn’t much better than our 8th or 9thcertainly better than our 8th or 9th best
Get upset much....auto correct error. You still pissed because Onwenu playing OT instead of guard. You obviously are talking out your arse.. His name is Dante SCARNECCHIA. Not SCAL. He was gone for 2 years with DeGuglielmo as the O-line Coach.. I remember Gugs not being a good fit. What you ignore is that the people on the O-line had played for SCAR already. Guys like Solder, Vollmer, Mankins, Connolly, Wendell, etc.
You're ignoring that, with the exception of Andrews and Onwenu, these guys on the O-line haven't had the benefit of SCAR or a person of similar quality coaching them.. They haven't.. It takes more than 4 weeks to get into sync.
And if ypu look at the original post, I was commenting that the Pats OLine Coach is seriously lacking but you were more interested in yelping. You're ignoring that, with the exception of Andrews and Onwenu, these guys on the O-line haven't had the benefit of SCAR or a person of similar quality coaching them.. Given the choices made at OT, Onwenu may be forced to play OT. We all should be pi$$ed that we didn't address the issue of LT. If we had a below average starting LT and an OK NFL backup instead of Lowe/Okorafor/Anderson, then Onwenu could be playing RG.Get upset much....auto correct error. They should back the brinks truck up to Dante's place and sign him as a "consultant"Probably, but I don't know if him being a hardass makes professional players play better. Short of Dante coming back, there's no calvary coming to the rescue.
When FA happened this year, I suggested getting Jonah Williams to at least play OT for a couple of years until we draft a stud in 2026 (Williams can plat LT or RT). I got ridiculed at the time by some, but now that he signed a 2 year deal for not horrible money, and considering what we have now, getting him would have provided anything better than we have at LT now and we'd still have a boatload of cap money. He's only in his mid 20's and was worth taking a shot at.Given the choices made at OT, Onwenu may be forced to play OT. We all should be pi$$ed that we didn't address the issue of LT. Lowe/Okorafor/Anderson,
THREE STRIKES AND WE'RE OUT looking at 3rd and 4th stringers (and injured old vets) to be our LT's.
Not surprised no one is interested, the contract is a bit of a cluster… the acquiring team would be on the hook for his $1.2M guaranteed salary this year plus the $9.6M option bonus that is spread out across the next several years, and if he is kept for 2025 he gets another $16.5M option bonus (in addition to his $1.2M salary next year). So his total “cost” is like $28M for two years, guaranteed, or around $11M for just this year if you commit to cutting him next year. He’s not bad.
I’d offer the number 1 for Aiyuk and Williams.

You referring to Bradberry? Not surprised no one is interested, the contract is a bit of a cluster… the acquiring team would be on the hook for his $1.2M guaranteed salary this year plus the $9.6M option bonus that is spread out across the next several years, and if he is kept for 2025 he gets another $16.5M option bonus (in addition to his $1.2M salary next year). The alternative, of course, is to just let Philly cut him and absorb all that dead money, then sign him to whatever new lesser deal you want with no strings attached.
