=============================
1) We could cut down to under 53 to give some flexibility. Obviously, there are at least a couple of players we have no interest in keeping on the 53 for Game 1.
2) There are several positions where I hope to upgrade with waiver wire players and free agents after the cut: LB, DE/OLB, RB, IOL, LT, TE, S/ST. I do see LT and LB as real holes.
3) I also expect us to trade/cut Osborne or Thornton, hopefully Osborne, freeing up another roster spot, probably a 4th OT. Not sure on Giles-Harris. Don't know if we need Schooler unless he contributes at S during the games. Not excited about either of our kickers but lack any conviction with Ryland.
4) Finally, this year is very different from others. We all recognize that we are in a rebuild. We pick third on waiver wire. We have lots of weakness at the bottom of the roster, fine for a team that is looking for developmental prospects.
