I still like this roster.

1) I would put Tavai and Bourne on in-season IR on Cutdown Day.

2) Dugger SHOULD stay, but I could see us restructuring his contract to put $7.5M of guaranteed salary into a bonus. Then it would be easy to find a trading partner. $2M cap for a starter is a true bargain, even if he only a 1-year transition for some team. If Dugger goes, I like Epps, but Pettus is possible.

3) Borregales may be (should be) toast.

4) Hopefully, Vrabel will trade for a better RB and FB than Hasty and Westover. Also, we could trade for a 6th corner (Battle is our default to be added if Vrabel can't find any better)

5) I don't expect anything from the waiver wire. Jacobs and Thomas were the best available last year. We may get lucky and find some one or two to take a chance on, or not.

You will be disappointed.

The waiver wire is unlikely to have even a couple of players that are better than those already on the team.
I would be happy just to have a competent LG or C and that’s assuming Wilson can handle one spot eventually. I don’t see any legitimate interior back up.

I’d be impressed with Mike if he cuts Strange, Dugger, Tavai, Mapu and Bourne. This would complete the reset which Mayo should’ve done last year.

You will be disappointed unless those available are much, much better than last year. We got 2 of the top 3 OL's last year: Jacobs and Thomas. I wouldn't add someone of that quality to our likely nine.

OUR MOST LIKELY
OT: Campbell, Moses, Bryant, Lowe/Jacobs
OC: Bradbury, Brown
OG: Wilson, Onwenu, Wallace
#10: Strange or one of 3 or so OL's on the Practice Squad

I notice that you (rightly) didn't name Jennings and Hawkins, two Mayo era choices.

OPTION ONE
Cut 1-5 and replace with 1-5 scrubs.

OPTION TWO
Keep them as one-year players. After all, we always have a lot of one-year players to fill in the roster.

A MORE DETAILED LOOK
BOURNE is almost certainly going to IR. He will never play for us again.
TAVAI is likely to go to the IR with the ability to come back later. If Swinson or whoever is doing weel, he may not come back.
DUGGER will likely get a restructured contract and then be traded.
STRANGE is a question mark. If we cut him as is likely, there will be no replacement other than relying on Practice Squad players.
MAPU could sneak onto the roster, especially if both Dugger and Tavai are gone, but more likely is for Vrabel to trade for a backup LB.

Very minor point of contention:

I think there are some positions where we very likely can find someone better but that doesn't necessarily make them good either. (Mainly guards and centers)

Still worth shooting our shots where the opportunities appear.

I'm less optimistic than you are.

But, sure, if we can find guards or centers as "good" as Brown and Wallace, we should bring them in. I agree that our backup IOL's present a very low bar.

This is especially true for the Practice Squad.

Finally, I don't think that we should cut Strange unless we sign another veteran with starting eperience.

I'm generally pretty optimistic but in this case it would appear to be you who is more optimistic about Brown and Wallace than I am.
