My daughter is a Fr at Penn State. By default I am now a huge PSU fan.I like him just because he was fun to watch at PSU. Will always root for Nittany Lions.

I think his parents are still together.Trace McSorley fans from coast to coast are weeping
Worth mentioning also, Folk is on the books for $1.6M in salary and $600K in roster bonuses which are currently LTBE since he was last year's starter so counting against the cap. Releasing him or trading him saves $2.2M in cap space outright.

Guy is my top surprise cut candidate, which means he is safe.Another cut that would free up some cap savings (3 million) is Guy, who declined a bit last year.
You’ve done enough capping in the War thread. Best to just leave it down there.I forget, is this the "we have plenty of cap" thread or the "we need more cap" thread?
Why would anyone consider Montgomery a lock? What is it that people see in this player? Do we expect 30 year olds to suddenly be better than they ever were before?RB will be curious - do Pats cut JJ & Harris with the assumption they can put them on PS.
I bet they see MonTy as a lock (although his injury status is a deep state secret at this point)
Rham, Zeke, MonTy might be the 3 they keep tomorrow.
JJ is on the bubble, but seems he's safe to save for PS along with Harris.
It wouldn’t be next man up, it would be ryland. The cap savings is the difference between the 2.thought you went through the cap space school from @Miguel to know that Folks cap would be replaced by another player on the roster which reduces the cap saving generated by cutting him ;-)
next man up something like 950k or so, so roughly 1.2M savings in best case
The way they treat him and speak of him is what makes me think they think of him so highly. Do you think they feel good about just Rham, Zeke & JJ as a deep RB position? Also - many thought Strong was the next James White, so there's obviously a vast difference in how the team sees players versus what the fans see.Why would anyone consider Montgomery a lock? I agree, I would hate to see Montgomery win the job over Taylor. He really hasn’t done anything in his career. Why would anyone consider Montgomery a lock? What is it that people see in this player? Do we expect 30 year olds to suddenly be better than they ever were before?
I cant believe I agree with Andy but I am 100% in agreement. It has been 4 years since he even had 200 all purpose yards but for some reason people seem to think Montgomery is some secret weapon Bill is ready to roll out week 1 and take the league by storm. Why would anyone consider Montgomery a lock? Zappe is cheap and knows the system etc but from what I have seen/heard about him this preseason I wouldn't be opposed to bringing in McCoy.Cards cut Colt McCoy.
Real question - would you feel better about Zappe playing 4 games this year (if Mac goes down) or McCoy?
I'd say this - I'm not thrilled with our backup QB options right now.
Who cares if Zappe is cheap. If he's not a pro-style QB with any long term development upside, why keep him as the #2?
I'd rather have an average vet who is a better Yoda for Mac, than a below-average 2nd year thorn in the side to Mac.
I think most of it is based on last year's TC, and game 1 - the only offensive production we had before he got hurt.I cant believe I agree with Andy but I am 100% in agreement. Rex Burkhardt is still availableI think most of it is based on last year's TC, and game 1 - the only offensive production we had before he got hurt.
I agree, he's not a sure thing in any category. But, we just don't know if he can be the "Brandon Bolden" type / flex option.
he's certainly more proven than JJ in an all-around role.
Needless to say, we'd be better off bringing in another 3rd-down prospect. Say, like the bust they just traded away for our 15th OT of the year.
