Deandre Hopkins Visiting Patriots Next Week

My buddy’s, cousin’s, sister’s, boyfriend’s, uncle’s, boss’s, mistress’, dad is friends with the cousin of the Patriots’ assistant to the assistant equipment manager and they say that Hopkins has agreed to an 8 year, $150 million deal, all guaranteed. I trust that more than CJ Golson.

Sadly, all the Ground Rounds in NE, except for the one in Bangor Maine, are closed now... There used to be one in Langhorne PA near Philadelphia, but that's also closed.

In lieu of the Ground Round, I suggest that Bill bring DHop instead to the China Sky restaurant at Adams Corner in Dorchester (across from the Eire Pub) or the Cathay Pacific in North Quincy... If they're thinking pizza, then it's Papa Gino's... Bickford's used to have breakfast served all day long; a nicer version of Denny's...
I like Papa Gino’s for chain pizza
Best is Regina’s in the North End
The Chocolatier is more in your wheel house now

I hope his flight is canceled.

Somewhere between 2005 - 2013 is all I got...
Same. Well I like your Derrick Mason prediction. He did take time to reflect on what if he had signed with the Pats, and admitted family was part of why he ended up with the Ratbirds instead. He was a free agent in 2005, right after the Pats won their third Lombardi trophy.

I like Regina's too... But I ass-umed that Bill & DHop were coming from Foxborough, and I didn't want them to have to deal with city traffic; so I decided instead on a couple of places south of downtown, near some of my ol' hangouts...

If he gets on a plane and leaves tomorrow without signing a contract, he’s not playing here imo.

What I remember most about him was how he survived 16 hours swimming to shore after falling off his boat.

First I've heard of that...Dam!

I remember Bill trying to sign him for either the 2003 or '04 seasons I forget which; I wanted him here too, and was bummed when he re-signed with the LOLphins... Perfect FB/TE for both the passing & running games because he could do both decently enough to keep defenses guessing; definitely not as dynamic as Kyle Jusczyk, but I think he could've helped for a couple of seasons before calling it quits.

Was always a fan of his game.

That's not how you negotiate.
Hopkins & agent are not telling BB what they were offered by another team.
How does that help them? It doesn't.
Of course all parties have a range in mind. Goes w/o saying.
DHop should/probably will, wait to see what Pats offer first. Then proceed from there. He and his agent can respond with any counter offer, which we can assume would be minor tweaks to items like guaranteed $, incentives years.
Lol man, nobody would ever hire you as an agent.
But THAT is how the Pats negotiate. How many Pats FA's are told by the team, "go out and find your best deal. Come back and we'll either match it or not. Either way you get a good deal and we're happy for you."

The Pats usually have their best deal in mind BEFORE a player comes to Gillette. They'll change a term or two, like adding more incentive money or agree to a no trade clause, or not something like that.

The TOP of the market for FA's has already been established. I doubt Hop is going to get more than OBJ per year, but if he does, it won't be by much. The only way he gets more is if he signs a multi-year deal, which I think he will. OBJ IS coming off a serious injury.

Put me down for a 3 year 45MM deal with $20-25MM Guaranteed, and it will be structured that all the guaranteed money will be done in the first 2 years. My hope would be that Hopkins can still be a top 15-20 WR this year and a top 30 in the second.

DHop to IHop probably won't work unfortunately.

Any word if he’s still in town or not?

No, I heard he took a flight to Kansas City after seeing the Chiefs ring ceremony last night...

J/K

So where's he playing? He left Tennessee without a contract too.

He's just trying to see who gives him most money at this point

At every point he was and is looking for the most money.
