Titans making their best pitch to get em

Or rather would he be an upgrade over Brown, or is he just then Bengal's version of Wynn or Cajuste both athletic enough to play the position well, but neither had the heart health or will to do it.He would Automatically become our best option at Left Tackle; and his presence would make Mac less nervous as he stands in the pocket waiting to deliver the mail to DHop, JuJu, Parker, Dawghouse, Double-D, Gesicki, Double-H, Frisk'er, Robinson & Strong...
He would be one of Nine Bengals OLmen who have experience at either college or pro OT or Both if everybody exits TC healthy (not including La'el Collins), so they can afford the hit to their depth there.
And he's requested a trade.
Is he a perennial pro-bowler? No; but he should at least provide Matt Light-caliber protection for Mac's blind side... And the cost shouldn't be particularly steep either: this is the final, 5th-year-option, year of his rookie contract, so he'll be a UFA after the season.
Doubt he will be there for several days...DeAndre Hopkins confirms Titans visit has begun with IG post
The Tennessee Titans are set to host free-agent wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins for a visit over the next few days and the veteran has confirmed on social media that the visit is underway.
On Sunday night, Hopkins posted a video to Instagram of himself in the car and on the ground in Nashville. It isn’t clear exactly when the two sides will get together, whether that be Sunday night or sometime Monday, but their meeting is imminent.
You’re not getting him under 15mill a year. Give him 2 at 30. They can set it up where it’s not as big a cap hit this year, since we will have more cap space next year.I don’t think he’s washed up…just don’t want a cap hit greater than $12M or so
Don't the Patriots have professional Capologists to help massage the money for contracts? I could picture them giving the 30m guaranteed that Hopkins wants and frontloading the contract while adding a couple of phony big dollar years at the end to spread out the cap hit. You’re not getting him under 15mill a year. The issue is how much we are willing to pay and how much to guarantee. Our cap is not an issue. We can easily make the contract work with 1-3 void years, or with a large option before year 3. The issue is whether we are willing to pay 30M or more guaranteed for two years of service.Don't the Patriots have professional Capologists to help massage the money for contracts? For example 4/60m with 30m guaranteed sounds great on paper but could still work out financially for the Patriots if they can get out of years 3 and 4 without taking a big hit.
Pierre StrongBTW- The guy I'm warming up to grabbing is Dalvin Cook. He's a guy who has run for 1000 yds every year he's played. An excellent receiver, and a threat do go all the way every time he touches the ball. He would be a better 3rd down back than White was and that's saying a lot.
In some respects I wonder if HE might have more impact sharing the load with Rham on offense than Hopkins. You would also add years to Rham's career and keep them both fresh and healthy . Just a thought
My point is they need to make sure he is a fit for the offensive culture.Hopefully he skipped it and came straight to NE
who said anything about signing anyone? I’m talking about filling a big need who’ll impact your young QB you’re hoping is the future.
Just saying signing players who aren't fits or who can't finish a season to big contracts leads to bad cap situationsThe Pats have the most cap room in the League over the next three years. So the one thing we clearly don't have is a "stupid cap situation."
Reiss on a possible contract (also culture fit)
Is DeAndre Hopkins a good fit with the Patriots' offense, culture?
Hopkins is set to meet with the Patriots this week, but are coach Bill Belichick and the free agent receiver a good match?www.espn.com
Agreed, that Broncos defense was legit but offensively they could be had.. amazing enough we almost won that game.. the extra point miss early in that game cost us!Or had they signed Emmanuel Sanders in 2014 like he wanted, he doesn't break the Pats back with those 3rd down conversions. Those 62 yards were more impactful than the stats indicated.
Throw in 2013 when Bill let Welker go and tried to replace him with Amendola. Edelman ended up being the replacement and Welker's cliff approached so that worked out for the Pats.
Started in Denver - they had no business losing to Brock Landers led Broncos up 14-0. Then losing to Philly led by Sam Bradford again up 14-0. Then NY. Then Miami. Just one of those games gives them homefield throughout and would've annihilated the overrated Broncos at Gillette.
Agree 100%, we’ve seen teams do this time and again. They sign guys when they seemingly don’t have cap space. I remember thinking, man how did they sign him ? It’s just a case of, as you say, “massage the money for contracts”. They can easily get this done, it’s about IF they want to do it.Don't the Patriots have professional Capologists to help massage the money for contracts? There's so much that goes into these things and you never really know the whole story.Agree 100%, we’ve seen teams do this time and again. They sign guys when they seemingly don’t have cap space. Me personally, my main concern is his work ethic, or should I say, his alleged lack of work ethic. As long as Belichick has been here, and as long as he will stay here, he wants guys who love football and are willing to work hard. I always hear Patriot’s players say after a big win, say things about how they had a great week of practice. Allegedly, Hopkins hates practice, and allegedly, he didn’t play the last 2 games last year, despite not being hurt. We have to weigh whether that kind of player is worth signing, the money isn’t the issue, the player’s attitude is.
The rumor is, the Patriots are fine with these allegations, and the rumor is Bill O’Brien would be fine with Hopkins coming on board, despite their issues when they were in Houston.
Difference is Vrabes is just the coach not GM.. we have the benefit of having HC/GM.. huge advantageWhy didn't Vrabel get D-hop signed? Is this a bad sign? Way to much money? Titans 11 million under the cap right?
Not even close Hopkins is proven he could be the difference with us being Contenders or not. We are pretenders without him. I want us the Contend for the Division not Third place also BB is not getting younger now is the time.Ok just sign everyone then.
Not caring leads to stupid cap situations.
See Jonnu Smith.
Rob do we have any WR on this current Roster in D-Hop's league?? I didn't think so D-Hop is a no brainer signing for the Pats.My point is they need to make sure he is a fit for the offensive culture.
Signing "talent" is not a strategy
Another thing to add to your point: this isn't a long term, 5 year 250 million deal. Not even close Hopkins is proven he could be the difference with us being Contenders or not. We are pretenders without him. I want us the Contend for the Division not Third place also BB is not getting younger now is the time.
