IF we can bring this kind of heat consistently and this was without Barmore we should give Buffalo some trouble.

The colts ol is really bad so probably wont get this level of heat, but should be able to get enough to keep Allen off guard for a bit. We have to be able to run the ball and limit their possessions , so depends on getting the ol fixed. We need to forget the vertical game, we won’t outgun anyone with our qbs. Other than an occasional deep ball at the right moments.

...Like at the end of last season, after the bye.
I think BB has harder practices then most teams to counteract CBA rules. IMO he works older players (30 years and older) too hard. Guys can’t extend there careers like they used to with PED’s. Building chemistry takes a lot of reps that can burn out players.

This play is a microcosm of Jones' issues ... basically his struggles in a nutshell. He has a really clean pocket here but you still see all the same problems:
  • Never looks to his right (appears to have an open Bourne on a checkdown)
  • Anxious in the pocket, moves too soon/too much, runs himself into pressure causing his rhythm/timing to break down in the process (watch how he squares his hips; once he does that, he's done for).
  • Hesitant, unsure, indecisive
  • Poor mechanics across the board: footwork, hips/core, throwing, etc. Just sloppy.

Most likely this will have to wait until training camp.

BB disagrees. ;)

@dreighver

You disagreed with this post -- what, specifically? That a straight-up quarterback competition most likely will have to wait 'til next training camp? Or that BB believes to this point, playing Mac gives the Patriots the best chance to win?

Yep, he acts out there sometimes like he's never played the position before, sorta like how his Play-Caller had never called plays or his QBs coach had never coached QBs before... It's during situations such as these - 3rd downs, RZ & GTG - where everybody's inexperience shows up... That ball should've gone IMMEDIATELY to Bourne as soon as he turned at the 20; instead, Corky was looking down-field for some stupid ****ing reason...

Perfect example. Any competent QB picks up the easy first down on that 3rd and 3. The check down to Bourne was wide open and the easiest throw possible. He looked awful moving in the pocket on that play too.

I really hope something kicks in for him.

He looks like he's scared sh*tless to make a mistake. The opposing Ds smell blood. Fresh meat to them.

welp, whats his name on the Bears that said Macs not good (put it nicely)? i guess he was right after all

Well Judon is playing like LT he's a force really hoping for one or three the Uche - Jennings and McMillan to help him.

Uche Jennings Wilson Peppers M Jones and J Jones are all going in the right direction. Hopefully Barmore fully heals.

that's just sad to see....like you have 3 receivers on the right side, and just 1 on the left side (until the back comes out)....wtf are you locked in to the left?!?

Great example and it's actually quite painful to watch. The fact that it's not even an isolated incident but pretty frequent is troubling. There are so many question marks this year with the offense since day one it's hard to know where to start. Allowing Mason to leave when he was on a very affordable contract. New coaches with supposed little offense experience. The whole dance on who is calling the plays. The same dance on who is the starting QB. Reports of players being disgruntled. The switching of Brown and Wynn which has been a disaster yet for some reason we aren't even considering switching them back but are even trying Cannon who can barely move at RT before putting Wynn back at LT and Brown at RT. Dramatically different plays for Zappe and Mac. All of the above makes you look like a genius if it comes off but just invites criticism and questions if it doesn't and i think it's safe to say nothing has worked so far this year.

...the way Brady did at Miami and at Denver in his first starting stint...

Or we can judge Flutie's whole career based on his first start at Green Bay...

The story of the Bears game is they gave up on the run because they were behind, something they did not do at Green Bay. Probably because it was the rookie's first playing time.

So, what do you do with zappe against the colts who basically stopped our runs on first down each drive? Would be the same story

Mac will come back after the BYE fully healed and sharp leading this team to the playoffs.

BB hater and Parcells son in law Mike Tannebaum was out lying and spreading his fake news last night on NFL Network. They asked if the Pats are Super Bowl contenders and his response was NO. Then they showed clips of Mac, our QB disparaging him. They will be sorry because Mac doesnt forget those who doubt him.

pretty sure a different QB would have Zapped it in there.

Locking in on Meyers
