Zappe threw a 50/50 ball that was caught for a long gain. He also almost completely missed a wide open, and I mean wide open, receiver. The receiver had to adjust and make a great play on the ball. He threw another pass to a rb out of the back field for a long gain. When he tried it again the Bears were ready for it.

I'm sorry but if Mac is responsible for his turnovers and bad play so is Zappe. I think Zappe is too short and you'll continually get batted balls from him. Mac led this team to wins last year. The reason for the change in Mac is obvious.

Im gonna say this and it won't be popular but what Bill has done to this team is almost a fireable offense.
Zappe has been the better player this year and it’s not really close. Zappe has throw twice as many TD and twice less INT.

Well, to play devils advocate…Mac got first team reps in practice this week. Maybe it’s a diff look if Zappe had more first team reps….

Zappe said at the podium they split first team reps last week...

Brees made it work. You can work around size.

Zappe has play only 3 f*ing game. It’s first game we’re the batted passes have been a problem. Stop using a half like it setting in stones what Zappe will be in his career.
Doug Flutie is three inches shorter than Zappe and did not have a problem with batted balls.

Zappe and Jones are both responsible for their turnovers. OK, that’s fair.

For what it is worth, Jones has turned the ball over twice as many times as Zappe this season.

I think the issue people have is that zappe fever fans are making every excuse in the book to downplay his bad performance. After they spent weeks insulting those who want to just give Mac more time for excusing his bad play.

I see that play differently than everyone else does I guess. I saw Zappe make a good throw that Jakobi couldn't decide which shoulder he was going to catch it over, and stumbled making the catch 10x harder than it needed to be

So first he switches QBs when the team is winning, which you might question for two reasons—1) don’t mess with a winning streak, and 2) it puts more pressure on Mac not to screw it up

But ok, fine, he made the change. Then he yanks Mac after a quarter. What? You make the change, you have to make the change, and not base it off a quarter of play after an injury

Then Zappe comes in, and they’re saying Belichick is saying they BOTH will play? Whaaa?? Which didn’t happen, but the idea is nutty

Now they have a mess, Mac looked like an abused housewife afraid she’s gonna get smacked around again, and Zappe’s trying to get passes past the offensive line. What a mess

I know he’s a genius and is probably thinking of things I’m not but it’s all a head scratcher to me

So, what do you think Mac did in the first quarter that would warrant him playing the entire game? It was more of the same from Mac that we've seen going back to the end of last season. Poor decision-making. INT's.

I agree they should have started Zappe and rode the hot hand until he sucked so bad they had to put in Mac again.

He gave Mac an opportunity. He didn't grab it. He went to Zappe, it worked, until it didn't. Zappe got rattled after the Meyers fumble play, Bears coaches responded in second half with the old get your hands up defense. Bill, last weeks genius is back to being a dummy. I'll stick with Bill. I support his QB decision. Bears did a good job off a long layoff to change some things. I think ZO nailed it. All they did on third downs was crossers and QB making plays with his feet. Defense quit in 4th quarter. Offense came unhinged.

I think we have one good receiver and still a bunch of nothing. Do any of our receivers make other defenses fear them? I don't think so.
Look at Waddle and Hill at Miami. Who would you rather have...our guys or theirs?

???

Who is the 1 good receiver on the Patriots?

By the way, the Dolphins gave up 4 first round picks, a 2nd round pick, 3 4th round picks, and a 6th, for Waddle and Hill. They paid Hill $25m+ over many years.

I have no idea why you made this comparison.

Tyquan Thornton is a talented WR. With him parker, Meyers and Bourne, this is a very good group of 4. Indeed.

Zappe didn't really have a bad performance. He led two scoring drives, and had two drives where he had some batted balls where the game was still in hand. HIs last two drives were the Pat's just trying to get out of there without anymore injuries, they knew they weren't winning the game.

If Zappe had started, I think he would have deflated the Bears D with how he was cutting through them. By then, they already had major momentum and believed they could win the game.

youre right about the statement being made, but from the report on the final two practices Mac was getting more of those reps and Saturday Mac took all the first team reps - well documented.

He really set Jones for failure. He refused to name a starter. He let it known both QBs would play. And then he threw Jones out there with a hostile crowd to him (there were even Zappe banners) with him knowing he had a short leash and right off the bat they asked him to play a vertical offense against a really good pass defense.

It is on Jones for wilting under the pressure, but Belichick really put him in a bad place.

Lions and flat Browns though.

Whenever there's any stiffness from the opposing defense, both QBs are not cutting it.

We can't play the Lions every week.

Mac had no chance and I like Zappe more, but Mac needed a full week of practice healthy

Big ass MILF is coming to town and The Pats must play on a short week with a lot of nonsense going on now.

BB the distraction eliminator has caused a big one.
Bigger than big ass MILF's ass.

Who are you talking about?

Belichick screwed this up.

It happens.

But it's not a lost cause.

Mac didn't learn not to throw balls up for grabs during the last 3 weeks.

Harsh message from Belichick, but you had to know he would've expected Mac to learn and not do that.

Belichick has a problem now, part of his own making. But it's also on the player. Belichick has lost some trust in him.

DON'T THROW INTs Mac!!
