Interesting that he says "Mac has not gone through a full practice." "The exact QB plan for this game remains to be seen."

So maybe they have both of them active and rotate them depending on how things are going? Can't wait to see what Bill has under his sleeve.

He has been limited all week. He may just be stating the obvious.

And no offense, but I think people are spending too much time parcing words of reports.

I don't like it when they start at 4pm, let alone 8:30. Selfishly I don't want to be writing **** at 4am in the morning.

If you manage to do a write-up at 4am in the evening I want to be your guest in Stockholm when you accept the Nobel in Physics. :excited:

Thank you for pointing out my redundancy.

So 4pm is the injury status. I guess thats when we find out?

What else are we supposed to do in a football forum dedicated to the Pats? It's not like any of us have clear direction from the black hole that is the FO.

I think the Pats can elevate only two practice squad players each week. So if the other elevation isn't Garrett Gilbert, we know Mac is starting.
If the team decides to give Mac another week to heal, why couldn't he be the backup? By all accounts Mac is very close. At 85-90% he would be better than Gilbert.

As I said early in the week. The telling move would be to start Zappe and have Mac ready.
That way, you can see Zappe in a tougher situation, and test him against a better D (although that's debatable).
While not unfairly giving Mac a bad hand right back from injury. And if Zappe makes some bad mistakes, Mac is the unanimous savior.
But if Mac starts and struggles, the PR momentum won't care about the Bears D, or any other team mistakes.
That would show the team is concerned about Mac's confidence and/or Zappe's growing support in the locker room.

Because what if Zappe goes out on the first play of the game? Did they really rest Mac in that scenario?

Thank god, just wear the silver pants as the default option for home games now.

That is definitely a risk if the team does not feel Mac is ready to play. Mac should be the backup if the decision is based on the feeling that 100% Zappe > 85% Mac > 100% Gilbert.

So we now think the French sports media has more inner knowledge than the New England media on the Patriots.........................

Can't tell if you're being facetious but the French sports media is not reporting that Jones is starting.

Ian Rapoport is reporting that Jones is starting, which was then shared by a French-speaking New England Patriots fan account.

It would be like @italian pat patriot posting a Twitter link from Rapoport and concluding that such a report is coming from Italian sports media.

But Italian pat patriot is a trusted source
