Belichick has done this forever with all of his players. He isn't going to change how he deals with talking about injuries to the media.
Agreed but it does grate. I really can't see the point of being so evasive. All it does is mean he will be asked more questions and i really don't think it gives any advantage to the Pats against GB in terms of them prepping for 2 qbs.

This would be interesting:

I mean the only way that’s even theoretically possible is that the initial diagnosis was completely botched and he never had a severe high ankle sprain to begin with. Which...maybe?

More likely this is dumb mind games especially if he’s not actually out at practice.

I agree. If it is a true high ankle sprain he can barely walk right now let alone play in a football game.

So hey. If it was a completely botched diagnosis that’s great. That’s the ideal. But I am uhhhhh skeptical.

I know, I've watched him since he was with the Browns. My point is, he's never toyed with positive communication - like saying Mac has improved a lot the last 48 hours. He's never said anything like that. It's always completely ambiguous nothingness. This was a first. And I find it odd. If Mac really is healing - like Terrell Owens ankle speed - then they'd likely keep that quiet and downplay everything. But if it's going as reported - a high ankle sprain - then no one thinks he'd even be close to practicing yet and there's nothing to gain by pretending he will.

Is Mac in the right profession?? Acting might be his thing after last Sunday him hoping off squealing was Oscar worthy Tom Hanks and Denzel better watch out.

Remember when Gronk had something like a “mild” high ankle sprain in the 2011 AFCCG and even came back in the damn game and was hanging out in the locker room after they won? And then there was two weeks of psyop making it seem like he was actually doing ok? Then the Super Bowl came and he had nothing.

If Mac had a severe high ankle sprain he’s not better. If he is better he never had a high ankle anything.

Don't remind us hated those lucky Giants Teams with Eli.

Gamesmanship. No need to rule out Mac just so GB can prepare exclusively for Hoyer.

Additionally there is no need to rule out a player b/c of injury until they MUST.

Also...if it turns out he only had a minor bruise or something how does this look in retrospect?

Maybe his reaction had more to do with the last pick boy it was up there for a while like a helium balloon.

I get it Green Bay is going to lose a lot of sleep preparing for Hoyer and Mac 4:15 game too.

People with this opinion should have to get a high ankle sprain just to make sure it's as painless as they think.

I’m replying to if it was a bad bruise, not a high ankle sprain. Make sure you know what you’re talking about

It is his non plant ankle. I’d think if it was his plant leg, it’d be pretty much impossible to give it a go.

People with a real high ankle sprain wouldn't even be at the Team facilities game planning to potentially play four days after that injury. Seems like there's a little drama here emphasis on little.
