Almost every expert is picking the Crows.
Many of em predicting a blowout.
I must be missing something. I just don't see it. I believe its a close game. Baltimore could win but not in a blowout

Yeah I don't think they score nearly as many points as they did last week, when 3 of their 5 TDs were the result of just 3 individual plays... Eliminate those and I think they can be held to around 23-24 points...which unfortunately might still be enough...

Exactly . par for the course from the forums biggest pus sy
That was a post that we could all really sink our teeth into. Informative, knowledgeable, robust. A post like that is what really keeps this message board ticking.

A little stat that may mean of absolutely nothing.

The Steelers sacked Jacoby Brissett 2x on Thursday, while they did not come close to sacking Mac Jones.

In previous weeks, the Browns only gave up 1 sack to the Panthers and Jets.

That tells us very little, I suppose, other than the fact that the Steelers without TJ Watt are not totally inept when it comes to pressuring the QB, and that perhaps the Patriots OL is better equipped than Cleveland's, especially since the Patriots were on the road in a very loud Pittsburgh stadium while the Browns were home.

On the flip side, Tua was sacked only 1 time against the Ravens. The Patriots sacked Tua 3x. The bizarre aspect of this stat is that Tua dropped back to throw 50 times against the Ravens and only 33 times against the Patriots. The Patriots sacked Tua once for every 11 throws. The Ravens sacked him once every 50 throws. AND Tua played the Patriots in Miami where he had a silent crowd while the Ravens game was in Baltimore.

Again, these stats might mean very little except that so far, the Patriots OL and DL seem to be doing their job, comparatively speaking.

Bit of a risky comment by BB for obvious reasons but I think he was careful enough to step close to the line without going over it. I'd love to think BB would say this thinking about the role the Ravens and Harbaugh had getting draft picks stolen from the Patriots a few years ago and helping drive Lamar's price up for them.

Also no way Lamar is coming here other than as a visitor. Pipe dream.
We could have had him in 2018 but we passed on him twice for a short armed stump guard and average Sony Michel. He’s entering his peak years, I would offer him a huge contract. Instantly upgrades our offense

It is fun to think about what could have been, hindsight is 20/20. Everyone would have lost their mind if the spent a first round pick on a QB while TB12 was here. Trying to bring him in now at peak dollars with the current roster build for a different set of skills is not realistic.

While I think NG is a miserable troll, there was a lot of talk about drafting him at the time

Agreed. BB has said, I believe, that the Pats repeatedly spoke to and scouted Lamar. I am sure they were very robust in their evaluation.

This is such a baller move. Bill is basically out here saying "I, Bill Belichick, hereby certify that Lamar IS worth a mega-deal." He's not saying HE intends to make an offer, of course, but that is a potential big boon for Lamar's negotiating position... Harbaugh and co. are probably pissed.

I can't think of a time Bill's ever done that before or even anything remotely similar. Harbaugh will probably say it's "deceptive" and ask for a rules change in the offseason.

There's this thing called the Butterfly Effect. We draft a QB in the 1st round, and then the sensitive prima donna GOAT gets his tidy whities in a bunch (as it's more than just a Div2 2nd Rd pick GQ type waiting in the wings) and he all of a sudden wants to move to Florida a year earlier and then the Pats get eliminated in the AFC championship game or earlier. I wouldn't change anything from before the Pats' last SB win, as any change may result in not winning the SB in 2018.

I wouldn't have taken him then and still wouldn't have taken him now. Reason being, you have to maximize what assets you currently have when you are in a "win now" mode and a QB sitting on the sidelines is a waste for the rest of the team. In fact, teams playing the "future" game are delusional thinking they have a title waiting for them when history has shown they haven't won a damn thing prior. GB is a great example of wasting a 1st round pick on a QB for no reason.

With that being said, I hated the Wynn pick (wanted Calvin Ridley), but not Sony Michel as he was viewed as a dual back. While Michel was terrible post 2018, the Pats don't win the Super Bowl in 2018 had they not had a RB who took advantage of his opportunities.
