I can't blame players for taking the money. In AVs case he seemed to leave here a little bitter though.
I worked the range at a pro-am at TPC Boston for 10 years and Ray Allen was one of the nicest people to come through there. By nicest I mean he treated the fans with much respect. He also seemed more popular with many of the pro golfers.

The problem with Allen is not that he left. It's that he took less money to play for the one team that was really competing against Boston for the title.

Absolutely no Bucs fan gives one single damn about this and I went and checked their fan Reddit page and as much Twitter stuff as I could find. From what I can tell he can literally set the pirate ship in the stadium ablaze as he bails and they’ll still say he is in their ring of honor or whatever they hell they have for their 2 or 3 good players ever.

I mean I'm pretty sure that Lee Roy Selmon, Jimmie Giles, Paul Gruber, Warren Sapp, Derrick Brooks, Ronde Barber, Mike Alstott & John Lynch all would've safely reached the Pats' "Hall of Fame."

Come to think of it, the Pats would've got a hell of a lot of mileage out of James Wilder, too.

They've had some good defensive players. On offense, not much other than the current players.

There are other reasons for players to leave beside money. I wasn't really sure why Allen left.
