If the patriots signed him for 2/50 they would have been charged 50 mill in 2 years. They would not push money out to hit them when he retires. It’s not how they operate, and it would be foolish to rebuild that way.
Did Brady play for the Patriots in 2020? I guess Bill didn't get your memo.

In fairness, it is tough to provide lots of evidence because naturally everyone involved wants to keep it quiet.

It's like masturbation. Everybody masturbates. But since most people don't disrobe and clean their guns while in line at Arby's, there is not a lot of evidence that everybody masturbates.

Louis CK does. Peewee Herman does. My chronic tennis elbow says I do. That's all the evidence I have that billions of people do it.

Brady worshipers do that to pictures of Tom.

You mean the team option? He couldnt have stayed and earned that 20 unless the Patriots wanted to keep him for that price. See how non guarantees work. Thanks for playing a part in our demonstration
That has nothing to do with what we are discussing

Tampering happens and is not so egregious IMHO.
The Pats should have gotten their pick because...I'm a Pats fan.
Not with Franchise QBs while in training camp for the new season.

Your malcontent loose cannons like TO and AB yes.

It literally has everything to do with it. The money was 32 mil, how come he didnt get it? 32=32 right?

I mean, we knew from the get go that was done to prevent franchise tag and to get Revis 17M for one year and spread out 5M of it to year 2 to reduce his cap hit to 12M for year 1. Calling it 2/32 mill is really not functionally what the deal was.
That is all irrelevant to the FACTUAL TRUTH OF “he was offered 2 years and 32 million”.

Is it factually true that he signed for 2 years and 32 million?
That was the question before you starting twisting like chubby checker.

My answer was correct. You twisting the question to include more than it did doesn’t change that.

43 pages in with retired functional alcoholics ready to rage post about how Tom is a diva or Bill can't draft will do that to a thread.
It's quite sad that the Pats are in day 6 or 7 of the training camp and the beehive of activity is in a thread regarding a division rival and a former player that may have spoken to them.

Guys, I thought Tom Brady threads were a no no on the main forum?

Brady worshipers do that to pictures of Tom.

Probably.

I think some of the obsessed Brady-is-bad people hate-f!ck their hands to pictures of Brady too.

I'm an expert. No pictures needed. Memories!

This is the point im trying to make, youre fooled by the headline rather then the details...Not all money is equal. Welcome to the point.

You have no point. That is why you are trying to twist facts into something they are not and continue to lie about my argument.

Ring 6 said this was a 32 mil dollar deal though
I don't care what andy said.

This happens all the time in the NFL. When the back end of a deal is an inflated number - in this case $20m, when the best CB in the league at the time is making 16.25m, you'd better understand that its a one year deal.
---
The simple fact of the matter is the Patriots wanted Brady on one year deals. That worked to their benefit in the way they manage their cap. Brady did not want that. He chose to leave.

And we have to ask ourselves how much did the Miami tampering come into play here? You have a 42 or 43 year old player getting told we will pay you X for x years and even offer you an ownership percentage (I assume after his playing days) if you come to Miami... What type of impact did that have on his negotiations with the Patriots? The answer to this question should be the only thing that matters.

Its the entirety of the point, which you cant grasp. Two things arent equal if one is guaranteed and the other isnt. Your point the money matched is proven false. Otherwise, Revis wouldve received 32 mil, because that matches the number 32

This thread is pure gold!
