I am sure somewhere Mark Brunell is crying about the tampering and what to tell the kids. He would be at home here.

Why are we not thanking Brady and celebrating this story? He was leaving anyway, and he ****ed a division rival out of a 1st round pick. Jezzus, enjoy the schadenfreude.
Because that would deprive all the jilted brides on this thread of the victimhood they damn well feel they deserve as #1 pats fans. If only Tom Brady had retired as a Patriot after 2019, then the world would be in order. Damn him for disrupting my inner peace and sense of self worth. Lmao

Another totally naive take. Wow, it's like the NFL isn't a business at all but rather some feel good, touchy feely, family run business where everyone gets along and live happily ever after.

Facts:
1. Tom Brady is the longest lasting, loyal, most accomplished warrior in NE Patriots history.
2. Tom Brady always did what was best for the team when it came to contract negotiations, for the betterment of the team.
3. Tom Brady never held out or threatened not to play over money like we see so many players do with lesser accomplishments.

2019 was the end of the dynasty. Bill knew it. Kraft knew it. Brady knew it. Pretending that this or anything else was the cause for the divorce is dumb af.

Since when are divorces known for exemplary behaviour. Divorces are nasty and ugly. By all accounts, this one was rather non-eventful.

From our prior exchanges it's unsurprising you would consider principled professional conduct in this case a "naive" concept. Tom Brady is not a "warrior." He IS an overachieving all-time great football player whose supposed contract concessions over the years greatly enabled his ultimate personal success, longevity, and off-field enterprising. He didn't hold out yet he DID skip OTAs and pouted openly. Sure, the Patriots-Brady "divorce" might've been inevitable, but revelations from this Dolphins flap cast his end of it in an unfavorable light.

You realize that after 20 years, this was the first time Brady became a FA.

That's like you, after a divorce, trying to go dating right now, at your age. Good luck with that.

Are you kidding? The numbers would be exponentially in my favor.

I do wonder the backstory of this picture

Many of us have idolized the guy. Many here have made him into Captain America. I have been accused by friends of having a man-crush on Brady. I said no, I want to be Tom Brady.

A grown man writing this and, even worse, feeling this was is f*cking pathetic. Sadly there are many here who probable feel the same way. Get your own life. Make your own mark on society in a positive way. If you have kids, I really hope that you didn’t pass on your hero worship/envy tendencies.

Do you also wish that you had the opportunity to dump your pregnant girlfriend, to become best friends and business partners with a snake oil salesman who knowingly sold false hope to cancer patients and then personally profit off of the fears of the public during a pandemic by selling an overpriced vitamin and herb product and calling it in “immune booster”.

You sound like a lifer. Always working the same job for 30+ years out of loyalty. News flash, loyalty is a 2-way street. The Patriots have hardly shown loyalty towards their players. It's a business, no different than in the real world. You seem to excel at using moral equivalencies to judge others, because that's what you always do, judge.

He mailed the end of the season, he quit on his teammates not very professional he became a diva.
While in NE Brady changed for the worst.

Another judgemental ass_hole. What is it about all you Bill apostles that your lifes are so shallow you feel the need to judge and criticize succesful people. You really come across as pathetic and petty

I never broached "loyalty" in this discussion. As for judging others, check that guy in the mirror.

Look, you're on the verge of melting down in the quest of defending TB12 over today's news. You might take solace in the fact that Tom Brady remains the GOAT and a dominating force on the football field until proven otherwise. As a man, however, he's human and not immune to the pitfalls of hubris, fame and wealth.

I keep trying to muster up some outrage over this. Can't do it. Loyalty? Pfft, the NFL is a mercenary business and the teams have no place lecturing any players on loyalty.

BB (who is my all time favorite sports person) did not want Brady back long term. Brady wanted long term. Why shouldn't he? Loyalty to you, the autograph seeker? Grow up. He was preparing for his post-Patriot career and to win more Super Bowls. Again, why shouldn't he? I suppose he broke some ethical line when he kept communication with two people he may have had an outside relationship with anyway. I'm sure in everyone's NFL utopia no other players ever do this. Just the evil Tom Brady.

Waaaah, he didn't thank me when he retired.

Waaaah, he cupped my balls but didn't tickle my taint.

He did pretty well in the 20 years he was on the team that I am a fan of. I went to Foxboro many times to cheer him on. Never bought or wore his jersey because wearing a shirt with another guy's name on it is a bit too flamboyant for me. Overall, I would say I had the most enjoyable run as a fan during the Tom Brady years.

I think Tom Brady and I are even. The fact that he looked elsewhere when he felt unwanted is something anyone would do.

LOLoyalty.
When the credits roll you have a responsibility or loyalty or wtf you want to call it. To yourself and kids. He gave us everything he had and more when he was here. He owes us nothing now. He doesn't have to come back, give a speech and collectively hug Pats nation (which was a rag-tag militia before he got here)

My feelings aren't hurt. No outrage here. These guys aren't waking up to plow my fields.

I agree with this (well, maybe not the "rag-tag militia" bit). I'll also say the fan part of me was disappointed by today's news. Because you can't be a fan without emotional investment which, by its very nature, defies logic and the passage of time.

The Dolphins were trying to tank in 2019 while Tom was trying to show them he still had it, and the Dolphins won at Gillette in December.

Lol. It goes to the sh_t teams that Belichick has assembled. It's no coincidence that the teams have fallen apart for 3 straight seasons based on the sh_t decisions Bill has made.
Making the playoffs 2 of 3 years and the 3rd being because you were stuck with Legarm Newton is “building sh_t teams” in your book. Every time you post you expose your ignorance.
Here’s a question for you if you have a sh_t team with a rookie QB hoe could you be #6 in scoring, #2 in points allowed, and #2 in both highest % of drives scoring on and lowest % of drives allowing points?
That’s what you think a sh_t team is

Back to your point, you are saying in 2019 Brady played as well at the end of the season as Legarm and a rookie, but you are disputing he mailed it in.
It’s like talking to a child.

If Belichick wants to blame someone for not being able to trade Brady in 2017, he should blame himself for extending Brady in 2015.
One day I'd love to know the full story behind that (not that we'll ever get it). Was BB on board with it? Was it a Kraft special?

The guy who wrote these posts just called someone a judgemental ass_hole

You probably think he was involved in Pizzagate. Lol

This is what happens when you let little boys in the mens room. What a naive take. That's why you see players fighting & spitting at each other after games, because they're enemies. Lmao

Damn bro where did Tom hurt you?

Practice what you preach

You're even worse being offended over a grown man's personal life/business choices
