Sounds like an indictment of our ball washing crew here
And if you are going to indict the ball washing crew, isn’t that an indictment of all Pats Fans? And if you are going to say that about Pats fans isn’t that an indictment of the United States?

You can do what you want to the Phins but I’m not going to sit here and listen you you bad mouth the United States of America!!

Gentleman…..

Oh, come on, "strong moral compass". I think it's closer to a "strong seeking justice compass". You fk me, I'll fk you. So, yeah there's no legal contractual "we'll trust you, you're still the best" clause in his contract but form Brady's point of view the moral unwritten clause was clear. "I am still the best. You bailed on me so I'm bailing on you." It's not the outcome I wanted but I get it

I disagree. He was under a contract he agreed to and was complicit with tampering that ultimately screwed his purported pal, Bruce Beal. He just as well could've said, "I'll be a free agent, let's talk then." Plus, it's not like he was desperate to line up a paycheck or post-Patriots opportunities.

That's one (cynical) way of looking at it. The part that gets me is the last line where you say, "The fact that he looked elsewhere when he felt unwanted is something anyone would do." I think you mean "anyone without a strong moral compass." He was under contract, he had a commitment. It's like being married and sneaking out because, well, you feel unwanted so that should make it OK. It's not as much a question of loyalty in Brady's case as one of professionalism and class.
You say cynical, I say realistic.

I was harping on "loyalty" because of a couple yahoos who have their sphincters puckered about Brady and his disloyalty by daring to continue his career elsewhere.

I do agree with you about professionalism. "Class" is such a soft, Ladainian type of word that usually is an indicator that a bunch of bullshyt is soon to follow. But I agree Brady was unprofessional. I also think it is pretty normal practice in that league. Doesn't make it right, it just is.

Brady fulfilled all of my expectations as a fan while he was here. That's all I was owed.

I keep trying to muster up some outrage over this. Can't do it. Loyalty? Pfft, the NFL is a mercenary business and the teams have no place lecturing any players on loyalty.

BB (who is my all time favorite sports person) did not want Brady back long term. Brady wanted long term. Why shouldn't he? Loyalty to you, the autograph seeker? Grow up. He was preparing for his post-Patriot career and to win more Super Bowls. Again, why shouldn't he? I suppose he broke some ethical line when he kept communication with two people he may have had an outside relationship with anyway. I'm sure in everyone's NFL utopia no other players ever do this. Just the evil Tom Brady.

Waaaah, he didn't thank me when he retired.

Waaaah, he cupped my balls but didn't tickle my taint.

He did pretty well in the 20 years he was on the team that I am a fan of. I went to Foxboro many times to cheer him on. Never bought or wore his jersey because wearing a shirt with another guy's name on it is a bit too flamboyant for me. Overall, I would say I had the most enjoyable run as a fan during the Tom Brady years.

I think Tom Brady and I are even. The fact that he looked elsewhere when he felt unwanted is something anyone would do.

LOLoyalty.
Tampering. Oh my.

This sh_t is so prevalent that the NFL had to come up w/ a legal tampering period just to excuse it. And even then, there's tampering happening all the time.

The only reason Ross got f_cked w/ the penalties he received was to white wash the tanking claim that the NFL acknowledges happened but wrote it off as being in jest. Come on man, how stupid do they think we are. Well very, just look at this thread.

So Brady was just being a selfish dirt bag.
He has always been, he just managed to successfully cultivate a this persona that has fooled many if not all. In saying that, nothing wrong in being selfish in the NFL.

being invited to the owners house to discuss his future on the team belies that statement.

Instead, Brady spent all of 2019 talking to the ownership group of the Miami Dolphins.

And you want me to think, despite his double dealing, he was above board with the Patriots?
Brady was talking with Fergie? Wait till Gisele finds out.

He mailed the end of the season, he quit on his teammates not very professional he became a diva.
You probably think he was involved in Pizzagate. Lol

Brady was talking with Fergie? Wait till Gisele finds out.
this fergie stuff is over my head, and im not going to bother to try and figure it out...

now go post some more funny memes

You don’t talk to your enemy…period.
This is what happens when you let little boys in the mens room. What a naive take. That's why you see players fighting & spitting at each other after games, because they're enemies. Lmao

I am sure somewhere Mark Brunell is crying about the tampering and what to tell the kids. He would be at home here.

Why are we not thanking Brady and celebrating this story? He was leaving anyway, and he ****ed a division rival out of a 1st round pick. Jezzus, enjoy the schadenfreude.

By "class" I mean not putting self-interests above all else, especially when it means dishonoring commitments or placing others at risk. I agree with your last line and I also believe Tom remains the GOAT on a football field. But I think Gisele's influence has changed him considerably in recent years and not always for the better.

You like letting little boys into the mens room, don’t you?

Another totally naive take. Wow, it's like the NFL isn't a business at all but rather some feel good, touchy feely, family run business where everyone gets along and live happily ever after.

Facts:
1. Tom Brady is the longest lasting, loyal, most accomplished warrior in NE Patriots history.
2. Tom Brady always did what was best for the team when it came to contract negotiations, for the betterment of the team.
3. Tom Brady never held out or threatened not to play over money like we see so many players do with lesser accomplishments.

2019 was the end of the dynasty. Bill knew it. Kraft knew it. Brady knew it. Pretending that this or anything else was the cause for the divorce is dumb af.

Since when are divorces known for exemplary behaviour. Divorces are nasty and ugly. By all accounts, this one was rather non-eventful.

You can't say 'facts', and then have an entire sentence of opinions immediately after it.

That's like saying you're not defending Desh....ah. Never mind.

So you are saying they were no better with Brady than without him? I think you proved the oppo of what you were trying to
Lol. It goes to the sh_t teams that Belichick has assembled. It's no coincidence that the teams have fallen apart for 3 straight seasons based on the sh_t decisions Bill has made.

Agree about Gisele. Brady went from sort of aloof to flat out weirdo after she came along.

The self-interest, dishonoring, and placing others at risk just doesn't register for me. I get what you are saying, but I think it's way overstated. I think a proven competitor like Brady is capable of walking and chewing gum at the same time. Making periodic phone calls is hardly a hindrance to trying to win every game. I don't begrudge a man looking out for his self-interests, especially in that league. Let's not forget a league that really f'd with him and his legacy already. I would include Saint Robert and his loyalty to the 32 that caused his lukewarm defense of his railroaded QB. But he was looking out for his self-interests too.

It has been fun disagreeing in a friendly, classy manner. Now I feel dirty. Can you call me a Brady humping homo or something please?

You realize that after 20 years, this was the first time Brady became a FA.

That's like you, after a divorce, trying to go dating right now, at your age. Good luck with that.
