One never knows when they're going to hit a home run.
That is why it is better to have more quality picks.
The difference between 21 and 29 ... no big deal
Yeah, probably right - No point wasting one of our 3rd rounders on this guy …I can’t predict players for crap, but I certainly can predict fan reactions because it is always the same every year. Pats fans always hate the first round pick.
So tomorrow the Pats are likely to pick a player in the second round or third round that people will feel he is a round higher value because there is always a player they feel is drafted a round too early and other that is drafted a round lower than he should go in the first three four rounds. Strange is the guy people feel should have gone a round later. So they could draft someone like Dean in the second round.
McVay is the coach of the reigning champs, was in 2 of the last 4 Super Bowls, is one of the top tier coaches in this league AND has verbally kissed Bill Belichick’s ass on numerous occasions in the media. He actually respects Bill a lot. He’s just legitimately stunned by this pick.McVay is a POS
I meant almost always. And that is true.
sad but truewe do not know for certainty when he would be picked. They probbaly tried to trade back but no takers.
This is clearly not going to be a transformational draft....and pats will still be without elite playmakers. They could finish 3rd or fourth in division. Get used to it for next couple of years

Let’s be real, this was the only pick that all the networks had nothing on standby for to talk about because it was such a reach.
He’d ask for a raise.Curious what Scar would say about this pick.

Everyone knows McVay is the absolute best drafter in the first round. Never misses. His Super Bowl record vs BB says it all.
BB is a has been who hasn't won a playoff game since 2018 and each season is getting worse. Your obviously won of those fans that thinks it's the old days when the Pats will turn it on and win 12+ games and the division.......WAKE UP!! It's all over, there is NO MORE BB Magic....the magic left and went to Tampa....BB GOTTA GO.McVay is just trying to forget how BB has totally owned him.
Or BB could have gotten this guy in round 2 or 3 but he really loved the "interview."Or it could’ve been that the scouts all really liked Strange, Bill felt the need at guard was really important and he said let’s just take him. He may not care that much if it’s a round and a half early, he got a guy that his scouts graded highly at a position of need.
Exactly, at least 2 or 3 of the guys we could have picked between 21 and 29 will end up being studs and even if Strange is good, we could have got one of them and picked him up in the third.Until we look back on this draft two years from now and McDuffie is a solid corner and Jermaine Johnson is a stud.
Ain't the media folks. Friggin Sean McVay fell off his chair laughing, saying he had Strange pegged for the 3rd or later.
No big deal. We should all be used to that by nowEspn didn't have a script for Cole Strange. No wonder why McVay fell ofg his chair.
