OT: Arians steps down as Tampa HC

My sister works in Boston and told me that Jimmy was bragging in the locker room that the Pats were his team now.

Brady is going to fail. He doesn't have all the answers like he thinks he does. If the Rams did not fumble 4 times in the Divisional game, Brady would have suffered an embarrassing post season defeat.

How do you suffer an embarrassing loss if you’re down two linemen and down four wide receivers only idiots would think it’s embarrassing but here we are

Brady does appear to have more of the correct answers than anyone else in the history of the NFL... His record speaks for itself. If the speculation of Brady in essence firing Arians is true, don't be surprised if Arians handling of the Antonio Brown situation was a key element.

If he keeps playing, eventually Brady will truly consistently fail due to injury or just father time. But last regular season and post season is evidence of Brady still being the legit MVP of the NFL and not someone that should start lacking confidence. Under the circumstances, the Rams games was one of his better playoff games in victory or defeat. A few bad throws usually under pressure but a handful of truly great throws throughout the game that allowed the undermanned Bucs to take advantage of Rams errors and tie the game in the final seconds.

Once it was announced Wirfs was out given the Bucs other key injuries/suspensions at wide receiver, Rams deserved to be 4-5 point favorites but fans have learned not to bet against Brady and that obviously drastically impacts the odds. If your offensive line can't block without your all pro lineman, your receivers better be able to get open quick and you better avoid most penalties on offense. Bucs couldn't do that well enough without their best two short to intermediate range options in Chris Godwin and Antonio Brown. It just wasn't those 2 star receivers out but the backups Arians had the most confidence in got injured as well.

Sure the 4 fumbles allowed Tampa to stay in the game and make a comeback but all of the penalties on the Bucs were a bit of a fluke and Bucs defense shot themselves in the foot on several occasions somewhat negating at least some of the turnovers.

I predicted that Gronk would return from retirement and play again.

The naysayers like you were steadfast in guaranteeing that he would not. "Gronk needed to salvage what's left of his body" "Gronk has lost too much weight" Gronk is on some TV show and doesnt have the time for football...blah, blah, blah"

But, I correctly pointed out multiple times that Gronk did not file his retirement papers with the NFL. Just like Edelman hasnt.
Gronk wasn't running on knees that are bone on bone. End of story.

I see CHB is doing what the CHB does best.

Paywalled and probably better that way.

So a 44 year old comes out of retirement after 40days and he is ok that his head coach is retiring? Brady has flat out become weird. His retirement speech to this comeback is just weird. When I think of him the most appropriate word now is duplicitous. Family this, family that, spend time on this, don't want to attend OTAs, need OTAs, it is the foundation. He reminds of a certain person who has not necessarily been successful in a lot of his business but is succeeding in breaking up the greatest creation on earth.

Yup. Pagano said the same thing on the McAfee show and actually said he spoke to him personally. So people just want a soap opera

People accuse Brady of being a diva, drama queen, attention seeker. Yet, all of the drama is based on "rumors" started by others: Brady to SF, Brady to MIA, Brady ousting BA, etc. All of these rumors started by Wickersham, Volin, Florio, Ohrnberger; but it's Brady creating the drama. Contrast that with everything Aaron Rodgers has done the last 3 seasons that creates actual drama.

Brady off-field issues: none
Locker room cancer issues: none
Leadership issues: none
Ex-players bad mouthing him: none
Mediots fanning the flames making up rumors and opinions: a sh!t ton.

It's pretty obvious people that don't like him now (because he's a Buc) or never did (even w/ NE, & yes there's quite a few) will just believe any BS rumor about him and attribute it to him causing it to get attention. It's sad because they choose to be miserable instead of enjoying the last few years of elite QB play by the greatest player in NFL history (per BB). LFG!

Brady had Evans, Gronk, Miller and Fournette and still struggled in the comfort of his home stadium. He threw 1 INT and lost 1 fumble. AB was only active for 7 games all season and Godwin was gone 4 wins ago. Its not as if Brady lost those players right before this game.

Brady looked like crap out there but the dimwits will dream up every excuse in the book to deny it.

The thing is he came through later when he had to. He got a chance to deliver because of turnovers and he did every time. Rob Parker said after the Falcons Superbowl that no one would want to sign Brady to anything after the 1st 3 quarters. Probably true, but games don't last 3 quarters and what Brady did in the comeback isnt negated from history because of the first 3. Unfortunately the Rams outplayed the Bucs the last 30 seconds.

Regardless of Brady’s relationship with Arians every report I have heard on Arians is that he’s not a guy who wants to put in the hours that any NFL HC needs to put in. He’s had a good career and if those reports are true then hanging them up is best for everyone.

To his credit though Rob Parker used his Brady takes to propel himself to a lucrative contract as the 1:00-3:00 AM Sports Anchor for WDET Radio in Detroit MI.

We got a bunch of Rob Parkers in this board

The juxtaposition is stunning. Brady is the king of the NFL at almost 45 ramping his team up for another title run while Kraft hopes for a good draft and a playoff win.

You can tell that Brady's competitive fires still haven't died out! I bet he wants to win just ONE MORE ring to prove to the doubters that New England was wrong to let him walk. A 2nd Lombardi without BB will just twist that knife a little deeper. Tom will probably never admit it till he retires but I bet BB pushing him out the door probably hurt almost as much as losing the undefeated season to the Giants and the super lucky 'helmet catch' by David Tyree.

In an unpaid position. I'm sure he'll hold a lot of sway.
I think that means they won’t deactivate his key card……yet.

I think Brady always wanted to leave and win elsewhere, it was the only thing that Manning had done that he hadn’t.

Nah, he just wants to win and Bill couldn't provide that for him.
