OT: Arians steps down as Tampa HC

If Edelman's knees has healed enough, big IF, would he come back and who would he play for?

I say yes.

I think 1st choice would be Pats just as long as BB doesn't try to give him a low ball contract.

2nd choice is TB but Brady might convince him that TB would give him the best chance to make it to HOF. Edelman needs at least one strong playoff run, but probably two to make it in.
Gronk was supposed to never play again because his body was shot. 3 years later Gronk is still going.
.
Edelman will play with Brady. His best shot at another ring is with Brady. Brady will pay Edelman more than BB.

The same way that Gronk and Brady were retired.

When the summer gets here look for Brady to ramp up the sales pitch.
Edelman is physically done. Those other guys weren’t.

Zero chance he returns.

See, got tied up here and missed that!
oh I was just being a wiseguy trying to predict next week.... but upon further review, I do not consider Detroit a legit destination for him.... maybe New York?

So Brady has essentially become LeBron James…sad to see. Very grateful for all Brady did for New England, but I’m glad I didn’t have to see this iteration of Brady on the Patriots or at least ignorant to it his last couple of years.

Bowles has likely flushed Bruce's offensive game plan interference and wiped the slate clean for Brady & Lefky. Number one, Bowles needs to erase the stench of game & season losing defensive call of a safety covering a league & game leading wideout one on one. pissing away a great Brady comeback. Number two, hopefully the 2022 OL won't play like tissue paper against teams like the Rams and will protect their QB.

They were missing Wirfs and another linemen I think they upgraded from Cappa so they should be fine vs the Rams

He didn't say retired. He said I'm a Patriot, period. When asked about playing in Tampa.

Brady just wants to continue with his passion as long as he is able. Why do so many people want to turn that into something diabolical or sinister? He and the Patriots looked in other directions for their own good. Why is one okay and the one not ok? Brady evolved. The Patriots stayed the Patriots. They took a step backwards....for a time anyway. They will get better. Brady took a step forward...for a time.

Bone on bone knees do not "heal". Career ender. Worse, makes rest of life not as enjoyable. Knee transplants are your future. Thankfully I sucked as an athlete and never really damaged my body except for ankles.
Looking at knee replacement because my knees are both bone on bone, this is correct.

Rich Ohrnberger weighs in:

I am sure that Ohrnberger is wrong and Arians amazingly moved to the front office the same day that Brady unretired.

The offense should be fine if they're healthy...they don't have an answer for Kupp though. Bad matchup

Brady wants to keep on playing and contending for a SB.

Patriots wanted him to play until 2020 and then retire. Patriots are currently not in it to win the SB. Why would Brady want to stay to play for a team who wants him to retire and won't go all in for a SB. They had a good chance in 2019 if they did.

This iteration of Brady still contends for a SB. If Brady still played for the Patriots, he wouldn't tolerate the mediocrity the franchise has become. The expectation for the team is to just try and make the playoffs now.

Nobody has an answer for Kupp at the same time Evans was abusing Ramsey now add in Gage/Godwin while taking away Von Miller and giving Tampa a healthy line

Ohrnberger is known for posting unfounded rumors. He doesn't have any more insight than the local beat reporters that cover the team daily or national ones that actually have sources inside the team. No other source has confirmed any of this supposed drama. Nobody.

The facts are BA wasn't part of the game planning. He said so himself. He delegated the offense to Leftwich and the defense to Bowles. He's not a micro manager. He maintained a general philosophy around the team that worked well for him in the past. He's a tough coach that's harder on the "stars" than anyone else. None of this is a secret. Everyone in the NFL knows this. He's also stated he believes that family comes first. That players & coaches need to take time off to be w/ their families.

On coach Bear Bryant, Arians said. “The last thing he told me when I was going off to Temple: Coach them hard and hug them later. And that's been my mantra ever since."

Now given the above, we're supposed to believe that Brady is so sensitive after having worked w/ BB for 20 years, that he couldn't put up w/ BA? He didn't need BA. He had Leftwich working his ass off to come up w/ the game plans. Guess what, that's not changing since it's doubtful Bowles will intervene in that aspect of the game plan.

The truth of the matter is BA said that if Leftwich a/o Bowles got a HC job, he would probably retire because he didn't want to be calling plays. Dude is 69 and his time was up.

Now, I'm not saying that Brady wasn't consulted on this or asked what his preference would be, but to assume based on just one not-very-well-known dude that this was a 100% ploy by Brady to get rid of BA is BS.

What you have is the Florio and Skip Bayless types forming "opinions" based on this one dude's rumor and it takes off from there. Find me one other source that lends credence to this story and I'll believe it. Just one.

HC retired. Passed the torch (w/ Glazers nod) to his friend, the DC to give him a chance to get a HC gig w/ a good team. It's up to Bowles to decide if he keeps Leftwich at OC since it's now his staff. He will, since there's no reason not to.

You're giving Brady too much credit thinking that he's the GM/HC, OC & QB. Come on Man.
You could be right, we forget about Director of Scouting.

The juxtaposition is stunning. Brady is the king of the NFL at almost 45 ramping his team up for another title run while Kraft hopes for a good draft and a playoff win.
